Here is what you need to do: After running through the first 9 steps as you described them the next step is to tick the box on the scenario screen that says "UTC Time". Then hit the "Reset to system time" button below it once. Then you can just choose the airport you want to start from and when the scenario is finished loading the system will have the correct current time for that airport.
