Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.0 GPU

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has delved into the sound files to lower the volume of the GPU ... well you can only hear it on external view, but still... it is LOUD! If you have then what are the changes please?

Thanks.

To clarify - this is the Ground Power Unit I'm referring to and not the fans on my nvidia card! 😂😂

Have you been able to get the AP to function on this bird?  When activated, it does a nose dive often takeoff.

I don't know if this is the correct order of doing things, however it sems to work:

I first dial in the speed, heading, altitude and vertical speed, but I don't push those knobs in yet. Once I have taken off and am established in a climb, I click on the autoflight button. Note that at this stage it does nothing. I then click on the altitude, speed and heading knobs (no matter which order, but I monitor each one to see the effect on the PFD and the aircraft). You should see the knobs push in towards the instrument panel. The PFD usually... (I need to do a couple more flights to double check my findings).. displays V/S in white and the desired altitude in purple with the vertical speed bar attaining the desired setting, speed in purple with THRUST in white and HEADING and the degrees in white.

Hope this is of use..

I’ll give it a go. There’s a YouTube video that also talks about adjusting the cfg to resolve the problem.

SOLVED!! I finally investigated where the GPU sound file was located. It turns out that Sky Simulations has its own subfolder for the MD11 within the main FSX:SE sound folder. Loaded the file (MD11GPU) into a wav file editor (Audacity is a free one), dropped the gain and voila! A GPU which doesn't drown out the entire ramp!
