No Dynamic Landing upon arrival

Another possibility is the configuration of your prepard3D.

Confirm you have Dynamic lighting enabled, if so the check the quantity of DL spots you have on your sim.

If you go to %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.cfg, and open the p3d.cfg, you'll see two parameters under the [GRAPHICS] heading: MAX_POINT_LIGHTS.

And

MAX_SPOT_LIGHTS.

Default values are 250, increase it by 100 or 200 and retest.

Will this impact performance?

It depends on each individual user hardware and settings.

For me it didn't affect performance.

Sorry for bump this old topic, but I recently got this problem again after upgrade to v5.

In v4 it works fine, I tune MAX_SPOT_LIGHTS=5000 or so and it works without any issue, but in v5, I go as high as =200000 and I still got no light after few hours of flight.

If I try set it even higher, P3D will lag as hell.

A scenery reload upon landing works, but that really brake immersion and it'll also reset AI,ATC etc....

It doesn't looks like, but if v5 actually use dynamic light for every light pole in the default scenery or so that brakes this trick? anyway to get around?

Airports for V4 will not work in V5 without an Update, because there are differences in the Effect files if I remember correctly.

I tried updating effect files for airports that didn't got any v5 updates for many times but didn't succeed unfortunately...

If you find a solution, let us know.  Even with cfg edits, I typically don’t have lighting at airports like FSDT, LatinVFR, FlyTampa, etc.
