Beta 1 is ready to ship!

Great, let's hope the Betateam does a good job.

Since when are FS developers allowed to post that.

I guess since MS decided to keep the FS community up to date with what's going on from the ACES chaps :)It's not that much of a secret about the beta since there's too many people "bragging" about the beta invites.I think it's great to be honest. This is my fourth FS release I've seen so the new glasnost regime has kept most of the #### down. Although I'm sure Mike and the team wished they'd kept the closed shop :)

"It's not that much of a secret about the beta since there's>too many people "bragging" about the beta invites."If they're found they'll be booted. The Beta is a private affair for many reasons, and is covered by NDA. MSFT employees operate under different conditions, but you won't find them discussing the inner workings of the Beta. Cheers,Jason

I'll superglue my fingers to the yoke so I can't type and superglue my lips shut so I can't talk.Hey I've recently been laidoff and I have all the time in the world to beta. Whataya say...Just playing I know its closed :(

Jason, probably bragging was too strong a word. Dropping hints may have been more subtle :)

Well, he could always type on the keyboard with his toes... :(Rhett

Doesn't matter. If people can't even be trusted to keep to their NDA when the NDA says you can't disclose that you're part of the beta team, they for sure can't be trusted to keep to their NDA when it comes to real facts and figures relating to the product they're testing.

I was just curious but why so much secrecy? I understand it to a degree, especially with competing software, but the only competition for FS is X-plane as far as I can tell.Just a curious question and in no way shape or form saying they should do otherwise. :)Ian.

Hi,It's probably more an MS thing, for all their software. And I assume the legal eagles are involved here and that there is some kind of legal reason too.And MS doesn't know if someone has a super secret flight simulator just waiting out there...Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Competitors (and we do have them--many) are only one aspect of why we don't comment on specifics and ask people working with us do the same.
