P3D v4.5 is there no longer a simojects.cfg file

Featured Replies

Good morning,

New to the P3D. I'm reading up on installing new folders into the Simobjects folder. I'm not sure if what I am reading is outdated, but I can't find the simobjects.cfg file. I'm guessing this is similar to the FSX.cfg file. Anyway, I'm looking under the root folder, but cannot find it. Yes, I have checked that I have show hidden files selected.

Any thoughts on where it might be?

Thank you.

I am not at my PC but I think you can find it in C:\Program Data\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\simObjects.cfg

However, this is not similar to FSX.cfg...that would be Prepar3d.cfg

That you for your reply, Psybear.

I installed P3D to a different drive. I have it as E:\P3D\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

That being said, I show SimDirectorUI.dll and simprop.dll, but no simObjects.cfg. I have 'show hidden files' checked, but still showing nothing.

Thanks again.

Where you have installed P3D does not matter, the simobjects.cfg file is always in C:\Program Data\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4 ...

Sorry, my mistake. I was looking in Program Files - not Program Data.

Found it.
