MilViz Beaver Broken in V5.3?
Good morning, @blaunarwal Thank you for the quick reply. I got pretty excited for a moment. I think your picture is from the Milviz Beaver. Which makes sense as that was what the original topic was. Patco Lch had asked about the Otter. That's the plane I can start, but the engine stalls for what I'm assuming is a lack of oil or fuel. @Patco Lch were you able to get the Otter off the ground? Like you, I can get the engine started. It'll run for a minute or two, but the oil pressure light never goes out. The fuel pressure drops and the oil pressure never goes above 0. I've reinstalled the XMLTools64, but that didn't seem to do anything different.

MilViz Beaver Broken in V5.3?
@blaunarwal sorry to bring up an old 2 year old post. I can start the Otter, but it quickly dies from no oil pressure. I've been looking for the pump and can't find it. Not sure if you were serious or not. There is a primer, but that is for the fuel pressure. I've looked through the manual, but can't find anything relating to low oil pressure - aside from one sentence saying 'if pressure doesn't rise, stop the engine and investigate the issue.' Thanks, colin

Milviz DHC-2 Beaver Update
Thank you for putting this together, @Rogen. It looks like I'm finding this a little late. I hope it is still available. I've just sent you a PM. Cheers, colin

Get the bogey mission
Good morning, I downloaded Get the Bogey mission a couple weeks ago. It features two F/A 18's sitting on a carrier deck. After launch you have to catch up to your wingman and fly to intercept an unknown aircraft. You then have to escort it to a runway and then attempt inflight refueling. Has anyone else tried this mission? You can find it on flyawaysimulations.com/downloads/files/6111/fsx-get-the-bogey-mission It starts off with Danger Zone - song from Top Gun. Looks pretty good, but I keep failing early in the mission. I can't seem to get past the first step. I never get clearance to go after the 'bogey'. I'm assuming it is the 747 that appears. Has anyone made it past this part? How close should you be to the other F/A 18? Does it matter how quickly you catch up? Thanks for your help. Cheers, colin

ADE and Progressive Taxi
Good morning and happy holidays! I recently uploaded a new AFCAD for CYWG and then made some edits using ADE. I've noticed that if I ask for taxi instructions right from the gate, I get turn by turn instructions and get the option of turning on progressive taxi. However, if I ask for taxi instructions (using the default FSX ATC) after pushback, I just get told to taxi to the runway's holding point with no option for turning on progressive taxi. I'll be told which runway to use, just not how to get there. Is there a way to see the progressive taxi line after pushback? Cheers, Colin

HTAI Single Engine Cessna AI
Evening, I just purchased the HTAI download for single engine Cessnas. It's payware and is used for AI. I ran the installer and received an messaging saying there was invalid data. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is HTAI still in business? Thanks for any help. Cheers, Colin

Re-Installing FS9 with Vista
Good morning,I have decided to upgrade my system and will be moving up to Vista 64 bit. Is there anything special I should know about re-installing FS9?I recently purchased both the 747 and 737 planes. I noticed two issues - 1) I couldn't see any of my add-on liveries and 2) I would get red lines in the airspeed indicator (only in the B737 900) as soon as the plane took off but would disappear once the flaps were fully retracted.I seem to remember seeing this has something to do with administrative rights.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Colin Gray

Couple small bugs with 737-800
Thanks for all your help.I went through the threads looking for solutions to the speed tape issue. It does seem to come up from time to time in this forum. I tried a number of fixes - uninstalling and reinstalling, removing user controls, installing as admin, and a couple other ideas I read on here. I'm beginning to think it is an issue with my computer and Vista. When I turned off User Controls, I couldn't even run FS9 - I got a number of missing scenery messages and then an error message saying FS9 has stopped working. I've also noticed that when I install repaints, some will show up while others do not. Best I can figure, it's an issue with my OS.Is there anyway I can download the guages.ini file on it's own to see if there are any changes I can make? Thanks again,Colin Gray

Couple small bugs with 737-800
Good evening all,I just purchased this NGX 737 800/900 for FS9 this afternoon. I tried some short hops this evening, but ran in to a couple issues. One of them was kind of addressed here, but I was unable to see if it was resolved.- I noticed that the auto brake control doesn't work. If I select RTO, it doesn't return to off once I pull the landing gear in. I don't know if this is the way it is supposed to work. I also noticed that when I landed, a light saying the brakes had de-activated. Again, I haven't seen this happen on any other plane - so I don't know if this is actually more realistic or not.- I also saw that as soon as I put the flaps down, I had the red dotted line covering the whole speed tape - this was both on landing and take-off and I was well below either stall or overspeed. The fix I saw for this mentioned a gauge needed to be updated. Do I just go on the PMDG website and pull off the upgades or is there another fix I'm missing?Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.Cheers,Colin Gray

Flightaware flight plans
Good morning,Thanks to everyone who suggested checking the flightaware site. It is a great resource. For the most part I understand what everything means, but just a couple questions on programing. Here is a route from CYUL to CYEGYUL V352 J484 SASID 4700N 08000W 4830N 09000W 5000N 10000W REFEX J5151) so I know the first leg would be YUL via (direct)2) the V352 and J484 are airways/jetways. Would I put in SASID via (V352) then SASID via (J484) ?3) the 4700N 08000W 4830N 09000W 5000N 10000W I'm assuming are lat and long. How do they get entered into the FMC ?4) what happens when the last direction is a jetway (J515) ? Would it be CYEG via (J515) ?Thanks in advance.Cheers,Colin Gray

(VECTORS) in FMC on approach
Hey Jose,Thank you for getting back to me.I get the prompt for (VECTOR) on the ACT RTE LEGS page. On the ACT RTE page, there are no prompts. When I come to that part in the procedure, I get a warning prompt and then VNAV shuts down. From that point I usually just follow the last commands given from ATC and try to fly in manually. I'm just curious as to when and what I plug into the ---/-----. I did notice that there are vectors given for the missed approach. Do I just ignore those?Colin Gray

(VECTORS) in FMC on approach
Good afternoon,I'm having a lot of fun working with the FMC - starting to actually figure things out - thanks to all the help here. I filed a plan from CYUL - CYHZ. I selected a STAR and approach for ILS-23. I noticed a couple things that I didn't see in the manual.- when you select the approach (and sometimes the STAR) there is an option in the FMC for TRANS. What is that exactly?- once I had my approach planned, there is a line in the FMC that says VECTOR ---/----. What should I be placing there? Thanks once again. Cheers,Colin Gray

approaching Top of Descent
Thanks for the reply. I realized in my flight plan that I don't follow an actual approach plate - I just kind of cobbled something together. Is there an easy way to know which STAR's to use? Given that you are not assigned a runway to land on until you get closer to the destination airport (I am assuming the in the real world this is weather dependent), how do I know which runway to program into the FMC?Thanks again :( Colin Gray

approaching Top of Descent
Hello,Just a quick question. I'm flying the 737-500 with FS9. I've been trying to fly from CYYC to CYEG. As I approach the top of descent I get a message on the FMC saying that the PTH DES NOT AVAILABLE. Is there a step I'm missing as I get near the point where I want to start my descent? The only information I don't put in the FMC during pre-flight is the approach rwy as I don't know what that'll be until I get to the airport.Thank you in advance.Cheers, colin
