July 16, 20196 yr Hello! I was in Button mode, currently boarding passengers, below 10min and wanted to start the APU so that it is ready when boarding is completed and pushback starts. I had the setup for controlling the APU for myself, but the GPU was setup to be controlled by the PM. After I started the APU - the APU was still spooling up and Aircraft was still on EXT PWR - the PM contacted ground for disconnecting the GPU, this killed the power on aircraft, all displays going black... Is this a timing issue or did I oversee something? Klaus Schmitzer i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
July 16, 20196 yr Commercial Member Hi Klaus, You caught it in a grey zone. FS2Crew won't disconnect the ground power if the APU is not running. The way we know if the APU is running is by checking the state of the APU master button (it's the only way we can guess what's happening with the APU). So you had the APU master on, but the APU still hadn't fully started yet. So you just had bad timing on that one. In the future, just start the APU a bit earlier 🙂 Or let the PM do it. B.
