Taburet Telluride

Recommended Posts

I see this is for sale at Simmarket.com . I wonder if it is any better than the free Colorado DLC that includes Telluride? Also if anyone bought it would they have to disable Colorado DLC before using it.

Taburet has become quite the aerofly fan, and after the release of his first scenery for the Sim is now seen frequently on the forums.

He responds quickly to any requests for changes to the scenery, and immediately updated the mesh to a much higher resolution, and cooperated when the community wished to add to the scenery.

All of this within days. His genuine interest in the simulation, and his willingness to upgrade the scenery almost instantly when notified of any problems puts him high on my list of developers to support.

In other words, yes I'll be grabbing this scenery.

Well, fire up AFS2, go to Telluride and compare it with the screenshots on Simmarket...? I just did that and the free IPACS airport looks a hundred times better than what you see on Simmarket. I wouldn't even think of spending money on that add on.

Taburet probably did not know that it was already an existing scenery for Telluride (freeware by the way). Anyway, we should welcome the interest of this developer in AFS2.

Indeed! But that doesn't mean we should buy his stuff just because he's a nice guy. 😉 That might give a wrong signal to him. 😎 The OP asked if Telluride was better than the free DLC and hence if it was worth the money: he didn't ask if he should support the dev with his hard earned cash regardless of the offered quality.

I personally never get that dev-supporting... Specially if the dev delivers sub par paywayre. Imho we should only buy good add ons and we should not buy the not so good add ons or we will get more and more low quality add ons. Some of the currently available payware add ons for AFS2 are worse than some of the community created freeware add ons: that won't really help the future of AFS2.

Yeah, you're right. I did not buy his Telluride either.

Btw, in case you don't have it, his Canary Islands product is excellent in my opinion, and he responded very fast to the enquiries about the flattening of the terrain at all the airports.

Well, franky, a flight sim scenery addon without a single airport can't be called excellent in my opinion. You have to manually search for, download and install freeware airports... really?

Well, I was really very happy weeks ago not only downloading all of the freeware airports from FSCloudPort, but also doing myself a version 2 of almost all of them, to my liking. I've enjoyed that very much.

If you're interested, in FSCloudPort zoom in close enough on each of the airports and you'll find those versions 2 already made for everybody, and for free!.

Worth it for me for several reasons: One is to support the developer, and two is curiosity about what a high-res terrain looks like in Aerofly in that area, Three is  because I know that the community will soon make additions for the scenery (just as they did with his canary islands) and I want to be ready; Four is as payback for the free mesh of Australia and italy that he gifted to the community and which he is currently repairing after some scenery spikes were discovered, and Five because its only $12, and I spent more than that at the Mcdonalds drive through yesterday for me and my niece! 😀

To those who have bought  it.. Did you have to uninstall Colorado DLC or did it just install over the top with no adverse effects?
