New suggestion:Driveable boats.

Featured Replies

Hello,I know this is a Flight Simulator, but I would love to be able to drive the boats, with virtual cockpit and all,to different places, and then maybe take the onboard hellicopter for some inland sightseeing. Now that the water looks so good and the coastlines are more detailed, this would be really funny. And the scenery seems to be quite amazing, even from a boat perspective.Best Regards,Balooba

I give up.............There are 100's of FLYING items that need improving before things like this are enven thought about. Let some 3rd party dev do this if there is a market for it. FS is a FLIGHT simulator.

I like the idea, the more choices the better. I dont mind seeing it going more in the direction of beeing a game with lots of different missions instead of this sandbox mode we have now.

There are several dozen "drivable boats" available as freeware... everything from outboards to the Queen Mary! Many of these have been around since FS2k2 for goodness' sake... ;)

It would be nice if someone could make an addon for MSFS with a bit more work on the water, like different wave sizes and stuff like wind acting on the sails. Or is that impossible if it isn't incorporated via the SDK?Regards,Balooba

and bikes, and cars, and people.Wouldn't you love to walk through London, visit the British Museum, and have dinner at a fancy restaurant all without leaving your bedroom?

>and bikes, and cars, and people.>Wouldn't you love to walk through London, visit the British>Museum, and have dinner at a fancy restaurant all without>leaving your bedroom?I was coming to that. (he he, just kidding)No, just having the world in MSFS to sail in would be enough to start with.I know other sailing simulations that doesnt have this big world. So by using MSFS as a base, they would have a good start.Edit: Yes a boat goes very slowly and you wouldn't come very far, but I've found out in a sailing simulator, that just bobbing around and listen to the sea gulls can be quite nice sometimes.Balooba

Bill Lyons has a boat with a VC you can download for free. I explored Misty Fjords with it a bit just for something different. I believe it was a "Garwood cruiser".You can download a pile of ships here by the looks of it http://fs-shipyards.org/

There's another boat out there that I downloaded. I can't remember which one it is, but it closely resembvles those swamp buggies seen in the deep south. It was created by a fellow Hovercontrol member and IIRC it may be available at http://www.munchbros.com.It has a virtual cockpit which is fully animated and includes an animated dog on the forward part of the craft. There's also a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier that's fully driveable, but it does not have a virtual cockpit.

Take the idea and run with it MS! Yup why not design a simulation like FSX or FSXI, etc around a common simulation ENGINE that people could buy all of the MS addons for? It would be quite a large undertaking I am sure but...For example: MSFS FSX ships as it is, a FLIGHT simulator, with the FS WORLD as we see it today. Example: MSFS World: FSXBUT, MS ALSO makes a BOATING SIMULATOR that uses the SAME WORLD engine, that ALSO integrates with MSFS so people could in effect FLY from Atlanta to London and do some boating and or fishing by activating the boating add on. Example MSFS World: MSFishingOkay enough fishing time to play a game of SOCCER. DRIVE or FLY to the stadium using FSX or MSDrive, then play the soccer game (MSSoccer), does this make ANY sense? All the while, all of these are INTEGRATED in multiplayer so if you choose to do this stuff on line, you will see others in their BOATS on the lakes if you are flying, or other DRIVING cars in the driving sim, so on and so on? SO many ideas, so little time...

where do you stop? do you then create roads with traffic lights, race tracks, etc so people can drive cars on them?I think this would be "cool" but to ask it is not something I'd want to do. Lets first let them get the flight simulator part right, then we can talk about unnecessary features
