January 9, 200620 yr >What makes any of you think I'm talking about FS9? :-lol I wondered myself too, why people talk about FS2004 in the FSX forum!Wolfgang
January 9, 200620 yr I see said the blind man!!!! :9Jumping up and down with glee for this comment!!!!! Yay, now if you would just say that you will be using the Physx Chip, I would be in dreamland!!!!
January 9, 200620 yr >What makes any of you think I'm talking about FS9? Thanks for the answer (cheers :))
January 9, 200620 yr >I see said the blind man!!!! :9>>Jumping up and down with glee for this comment!!!!! Yay, now>if you would just say that you will be using the Physx Chip, I>would be in dreamland!!!!Sorry for off topic, but imo hardware solution for physics engine, while good idea, it's going to take some time (if ever) to come mainstream.I've a some of practical experience with this particular engine which is addressed by this chip and for my limited knowledge there is nothing which stops it from using second processor (except maybe company politics) instead of dedicated card.Well, anyway looks like FSX will be more than we think, even if atm most we know is pure speculation.
January 10, 200620 yr >Yeah, you're right. I'm sure I don't know anything about how>FS works. Whatever your name is:by "supported" I really mean there is a realizable performance benefit. If someome told me that dual-core and SLI were both supported by I would not see any benefit - for me it is equivalent to "not-supported". Clearly neither dual-core nor SLI is supported (using my above definition) in FS9. January 10, 200620 yr Author Actually, what's his name was referring to FSX not FS9 when alluding to the use of dual processor and SLI. Somehow, the thread got off the original posting concerning FSX and switched subtly to FS9.Ian.
January 10, 200620 yr Thanks, if he says that both dual-core and SLI are supported in FSX and we will see a performance benefit - this simple message would be very interesting and highly welcome. But at the moment I haven't read anything definite on the subject - only "half" statements.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
January 10, 200620 yr Author I concur, but we'll have to wait and see. I believe some of the statements may also concern the new Vista OS and not XP, but I'm not sure as I've read nothing yet about Vista, but would wager a guess that it may take advantage of both dual processing and SLI. I guess I better have a read on this Vista everyone is talking about.Ian.
