August 28, 20196 yr Good day I cannot beleive that there are no heat shimmers in P3D whrn this is basic with X plane. Any idea if such an effect exists in P3D. This is a clear fault in P3D. Regards
August 28, 20196 yr That’s a good question, I know there are a few immersion packs for select aircraft out there offered by old prop...however not sure heat shimmer is included in these. August 28, 20196 yr It's not a clear fault, it's just not you are used to. In my opinion the effect in XP is overblown, as in it is way too obvious in all situations. We had a similar effect, IIRC, in FSX and FS9 with either Project Airbus or Project Opensky freeware aircraft. It was a lot more subtle than XP's version and I wouldn't mind seeing a similar effect make an appearance in P3D. August 29, 20196 yr Author Thank you for the answer. So you think this something that can be done or it has not be done because it is too difficult ?
August 30, 20196 yr I think the pmdg 747 has some kind of heat exhaust effect for engines and APU. It didn’t end up looking like the one they had in some promotional videos before release though.
August 30, 20196 yr FSLABS also has heat shimmer/exhaust effects which are pretty good. But I agree and would like to see this built into the base sim.
