Grand Caravan Cold Start

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am trying to use the default Grand Caravan from a cold start as this is what Air Hauler dictates. What ever I try I cannot get it to start, it makes a bit of noise and then goes back to silent.

Are there some instructions I can follow? Ive done a search and nothing comes up now that FS9 is old and so Im stuck.

Thanks

Check the mixture, it might be too rich or lean.  What elevation are you starting it up at? If you're above 3000 ft you might want to lean it out a little.

If you need a FS2004 Default c208b Grand Caravan Checklist / Manual you can get one from the below link.

Download unzip and Look at the Pre-Start  and Startup Checklist at the top of the .PDF, remember that airports above 2500ft MSL will be difficult for engine start, but in this case I'm inclined to go full rich on the mixture.

Boost pumps & Fuel flow must be enabled, Hold starter till engine fires, then increase throttle a fraction to keep engine running.

thanks all. Its just a standard airport but its been a long time since I did a cold start and could not find the routine anywhere, so ended up sat there fiddling with switches for 30 minutes and going nowhere!

Could you confirm which one is the starter that I need to hold, as they all look like flick switches?
