September 2, 20196 yr Hi there, I can't get the english speech recognition to work. Windows10 always tells me that the OS display language has to be the same as the speech recognition. The confusing ways to set the language (system preferences vs. Windows10 settings) doesn't help either. Do I really have to set my whole system to english for this to work??? BR Stu
September 3, 20196 yr Commercial Member Try setting your system to English. Then select the English US speech recognizer. Then set your Windows display language back to German. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

Doesn't work unfortunately. If I change display language back to german, it will also set the speech recognition language back to german automatically. It jus't won't let me use different languages for display and s.r. Edited September 3, 20196 yr by disco79stu
September 3, 20196 yr Author Seems that‘s just the way it is. I‘ll set the system language to english as well then....
September 3, 20196 yr You could try the following: Download both lang packs. Then go into speech in time and language (Zeit und Sprache), then change it there. After doing that Co into the control panel (systemsteuerung) and set stuff up there. My OS is in English and I can switch my speech recognizer many times from English US to GER. I do it daily when testing ugcx. Cheers Henrik K. No matter what I set in "Spracherkennung" under "Zeit und Sprache", as soon as I select English-USA under "Systemsteuerung\Erleichterte Bedienung\Spracherkennung\Erweiterte Sprachoptionen" the speech regocnition won't start anymore because it needs the display language to be the same.... But thanks anyway! Edited September 3, 20196 yr by disco79stu

But I also googled it and some suggestons to this error were simply to set the display language to ensligh. And the error message clearly states that it needs to be the same. Wierd that I'm aparently the only german speaking user that seems to have this problem, because I can't find anything in the forum so far...
September 3, 20196 yr Can you post a screenshot of the error msg? And also your steps? Cheers Henrik K. September 3, 20196 yr Author Here I can set the speech regognition language. But it doesn't seem to affect anything and returns back to german after I try to activate speech recognition: This one is in the control panel, where I can select English as well: When I do and try to start the speech recognition, I get this error message: It sais taht the languages have to coincide. I think I have all necessary languages installed: With the display language set to german, it won't let me use english as speech recognition. Greets, Stu Edited September 3, 20196 yr by disco79stu
September 4, 20196 yr Commercial Member Well, I guess you'll just need to set your display language to English if you want to use English US. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
