Reference Point for Marshaller position

Recommended Posts

What is the reference point for the marshaller position (for the starting sequence with handsignals and the guidance into the parking position)?

It seems to be the parking position in the afcad.

It should rather be the aircraft position. Often enough the parking position in the afcad differs significantly from the markings on the ground. That leads to the marshaller being invisibly close to the aircraft sometimes or way too far away other times (and you need a different point of view setting for every parking position).

It's the parking spot position. We know that the best would be to being able to actually customize it and save it. But we couldn't make that yet. It's possible, since we can use a method similar to what we have with the "Custom Aircraft Offset" to place it in the scenery and save the XYZ offset or coordinate in the parking profile

The pushback truck obviously takes the aircraft as a reference so why don't you just do the same with the marshaller? Talking about the startup with handsignals here. Guiding into the parking is a different story of course.
