September 26, 20196 yr I have a problem installing a scenery with AddonOrganizer and xml . I have followed all the instructions in "How to sdd legacy scenery". This applies to Aerosoft Trondheim Vaernes V2. The difference between the airports shown in "How to add legacy scenery" is that in the case of Trondheim there is another category except Effects and World base secenery and that is Simobjects. I have added the SimObjects folder to Other addons. In that folder are Avatars, Ground Vehicles and Misc. The installation does not work the airport is completely without buildings and only a number of red large X.I P3D Add-ons the scenery are active. How can I troubleshoot this? /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152
September 26, 20196 yr You should be able to run the .exe file from Aerosoft, and the install script should do the rest. September 26, 20196 yr Author Hi Jude Thats right. Normal installation with the exe file is not a problem and the scenery goes to the scenery.cfg. In this case I want to use .xml for installing the scenery. /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152
September 26, 20196 yr Commercial Member Hello Thomas, Make sure that you have added the SimObjects properly. The Path is the parent folder of where the SimObjects themselves are. So if you have \whatever\SimObjects\Misc and \whatever\SimObjects\Avatars, these are two separate Addons of category SimObjects. Using "\whatever\SimObjects" as Path will not work, P3D will not parse the subfolders. A large red letter "X" is usually associated with SODE telling you that it is supposed to display objects that it can't find. As far as I know, SimObjects that are to be used with SODE need to be in a specific location (possibly C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects), and there may be a config file involved (possibly in C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml) Best regards Edited September 26, 20196 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
September 26, 20196 yr Very interesting... I have had ImagineSim ZSPD installed since it came out and never have had a RED X before. This morning it started. Nothing was changed. Working on it...
September 27, 20196 yr Author Thanks Oliver! Making separate Addons categorys and pointing AddonOrganizer direct to the three diffrent Simobjects folders Avatars, GroundVehicles and Misc fixed the problem. /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152
