I don't want to offend anybody, but...

I would like some help in trying to merge the PSS 757 panel to the CS 757...Can it be done? After trying the usual method of putting the panel files in the CS panel folder and changing the contact points and light section, I end up with a CS 757 with no gear and also all of the engine and pitot coverings on. That seems to happen from simply pasting the PSS 757 panel files into the CS panel folder.I have a hard time flying the PSS 757 model after looking at the CS 757 model...sorry

Generally speaking re merges - I always start with the 'offending' plane as source and change it's model, not move panels etc.In your case I'd START with the PSS plane, copy the CS model to the PSS model folder, and edit the PSS ac.cfg contact points, lights and any exit, wingfold entries etc from the CS ac.cfg to match back to the copied model. This way the PSS panel panel/fde remain together, only the visual model will change. If CS has specific panel switches/visual model ties however, you may have issues.regards,Markhttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/mar.../sup_banner.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256

I had the same issues and what I believe to be the problem is the animation guages. I copied in the CS animation icons and panel and the problem went away. I still have issues though that I can't figure out such as the flaps won't extend. If I hold the extend button on my joystick they move, but as soon as I let go the retract again.I haven't made anymore head room on it so hopefully someone else can.

Aaron, You just gave me the laugh of the day... :-lol"I haven't made anymore head room..."Head room is a Brit term for the height of the under pass through which your vehicle can pass; such as "Max Head Room 16 Feet". Remember the TV series "MaxHeadRoom"? Anyway, what I think you meant to say, was "head way", which is a Naval term meaning "progress". Anyway, too funny. Thank you for that. :)

Try copying the Flaps section from PSS to the aircraft.cfg from the CS.Carlos

Paul, I agree with that. It was a great show! And... I liked the guys accent, funny as it was. :)

I've tried it with the same results. And I'm glad I could be of service Tom. :) I've never said that I was the sharpest tool in the shed. In the end though, at least I got my point across. lol

I had/have the same problem with the CS 757 and C-130. I solved the C-130 problem by comparing the panel config for both the panel I wanted to use and the panel that came installed. It took about 30 minutes, but the differences were fairly obvious. I simply don't remember exactly what I did, but the keys are the panel config files of BOTH panels. I started with the premise that CS probably added additonal crap just to discourage alterations without buying the more expensive blocks. (I have Block A for the 757 and the C-130J expansion). It was fairly simple after that, through trial and error, after backing up EVERY try, to find what needed to be removed. I wish I could be of more help, but I'm afraid I sorta 'hacked' it until it worked, and I haven't tried it on the 757. If you'd like, I'll PM copies of both panel configs and you can get a better idea of what I did.Bob

Well Bob, that may be of some help...I really wish there was an easy way to do this or a package to download that gave step by step instructions...oh well, it looks it'll be trail and error to get it working. Might not be worth it in the long run. The LDS 757 may be done by the time I figure it out!!

Tim, keep us posted if you manage it. I had exactly the same thoughts. I love CS's 757 but it's a pig to fly. Heck, why can't someone from PSS go work for CS and sort out their panels?!!!http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/9021/image1fj9.jpg

Well, I've made a little progress in that the only thing it seems from preventing this merge is what Bob has pointed out. There's something in the panel config that needs to be transferred to the PSS panel cfg. What that is, I haven't figured out yet. I'll keep ya posted.

Ok, I've gotten it to the point that I'm happy with. The flaps work properly from the PSS panel, but not the CS VC. Something I need help with is the views. When switching to the VC, the view is waaayy to high. Also, the view from the main panel needs a [sHIFT-ENT] before flying. All animations work with the CS animations panel.Perhaps there is someone I can collaborate with on the remaining issues? I'm excited by the progress thus far.

How did you get the flaps to work? I tried using the flaps section from both the PSS and the CS cfg, but neither seemed to work.

- Aaron

While I tried a whole bunch of things at once, I think what made it work was copying all of the VC sections from the CS panel.cfg and copying them over the PSS VC entries in the PSS panel.cfg
