September 30, 20196 yr I am a cautious, not easily excited, guy but I have to say that Asobo seems well on its way to reinvent home flight simulation. Bravo, les gars ! And a French-US venture, I like that ! I wonder what were the specs of the machines on which the happy few tested the pre-alpha. I understand from Froogle, I think, that the new sim works on Dx11 and does not require RT functionality. So we are talking of the 1080 generation ? What about the CPU ? Any indication from another tester ? Storage capacity for cached sceneries ? Also, it would be nice to see the same footage in its full online glory, offline cached and offline non cached. September 30, 20196 yr Apparently they weren't willing to talk about hardware requirements yet though.

I suspect this is what the insider pre-alpha test will find out, going on the users Dxdiag report and location for full test or limited cache. Sadly Domkle your still going to need W10 and before you ask why if it`s DX11 because it runs on the Microsoft UWP and only W10 supports that. Edited September 30, 20196 yr by rjfry Raymond Fry.

Um, maybe not! Quote Microsoft is effectively killing UWP by ensuring that all its capabilities are available to once-legacy app development platforms. https://www.thurrott.com/dev/206351/microsoft-confirms-uwp-is-not-the-future-of-windows-apps Fr. September 30, 20196 yr So windows 10 no longer required for MSFS when did they change that it`s not on my insider feed. Raymond Fry.

October 1, 20196 yr I’ll be getting the i9 9900ks with my 1080ti lightning z and 4000mhz 32gb ram will that be sufficient ??

From my own experience over the years , the « sufficient » hardware is always the latest CPU and GPU. Now the previewers report a smooth simming with an upper but not top end computer loaded with a 2080i. I’ll wait a bit before upgrading as I intended to do. You really should wait until the simulator is actually released. It is probably a year away, and hardware with the same performance level will cost less then. The CPU could be a non-factor for Microsoft Flight Simulator, requiring the best GPU you can get, or it might favour more threads, since the Xbox Scarlett will have 16 threads, and they'll want to use all of them. In that case, a Ryzen would be a better choice.
October 1, 20196 yr Can’t wait a year lol i sold my pc parts just recently of a 4790k which served me well. i think the i9 9900ks will be ok and possibly the 1080ti if anything ill upgrade my gpu in the future.
