September 13, 200619 yr NotaSenator whats your computer spec's? Also did you turn off all Air traffic when making the Video to?
September 14, 200619 yr If someone could post a movie of what 1.x high water is supposed to look like (just the beaver sitting in the water), that would be great. I just want to know what I'm missing.
September 14, 200619 yr >NotaSenator whats your computer spec's? Also did you turn off>all Air traffic when making the Video to?I'm not sure if I had air traffic off at the time. It doesn't seem to make a huge difference. My specs and other videos are here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...52&topic_id=181
September 15, 200619 yr >Earl,>>I think that you don't see a difference between 1.X Mid and>1.X High because your video card doesn't support shader model>3. I'm guessing that an advanced shader makes all the>difference in the two settings.>You're wrong. FSX doesn't use Shader model 3. It uses shader 2.0, as in the setting 2.x Max.With shader 3.0, you'll see the shadow follow the waves in the water, which it doesn't in FSX. Notice, the shadow lies flat on the water surface, which I think looks very unreal.
September 15, 200619 yr OK, I'll buy that. So what cap bits does the X800 Pro have that the 9550 doesn't?Edit: Looking at the spec sheets, the 9550 doesn't support normal mapping, but the X800 does. The 1.X High water may apply a N-map wave motion. (Guessing here)
September 15, 200619 yr Author I think it's called 2x because it uses the same texture twice, two layers shuffling over each other while one of them is slightly enlarged and moves in a different direction.Regards, Gerrit Gerrit
September 16, 200619 yr What is the difference between med 2.x and high 2.x?
