FSX Airbus, opinions and screens?

Featured Replies

Hi all,Those of you "in the know": Could you please post some information and screenshots of the FSX implementation of the Airbus ?I've seen very little information on the Bus anywhere. What systems are modelled, what is the general look and feel of things etc. etc. ?Just interested, not planning on defecting to be a bus driver :).Tero

I actually like what they've tried to do with the FBW system.I was a little put off at first not really knowing what it 'should' be like but after a few hours it seems to hold attitude (almost like constant auto flight trim) pretty good.It feels a little sluggish in the FBW response to control input (beta 3) but this could have been improved in later builds. One thing that took me by surprise was on short final. In the real A32X I think about 50ft (or was that 100ft) Normal Law starts applying nose down pressure so the pilot is forced to gradually pull back on the stick for flare and roll out but in FSX this seems to be modelled too aggressively. It almost goes into an uncontrollable pitch down with no real room to recover. But if there's one thing that is great about all of this, its that they're really close to modelling FBW accurately and it will pave the way for great airbus 3rd party products. Here's a screen shot of the 2D panel (My PC is too old to handle VC with any degree of success):http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/6670/a321jn3.jpgYou'll notice there is no Nav button. After a long frustrating period searching for it I realised that the LOC button also acts as the Nav button. I'm not sure if I like that.Btw, what
