November 16, 20196 yr Hi, didn't find a hint here or elsewhere: as these sites stateThinkaviation.net , AOPA , swiss government one should close its VFR flight plan shortly before or immediately after landing, on my VFR travel yesterday's evening, I searched for the opportunity to do this. But - maybe I'm a blind dumbass - I didn't find any "close flightplan" or "cancel flightplan" request, neither while connected to center nor to ATC, also I couldn't find such a request in any other "Request" menu. The only request was to cancel flight following, then ATC told me to cancel flight following, radar advisory a.s.o. Could someone shed some light on this topic ? Is cancelling flight following or radar advisories the same as close a flight plan ?
November 16, 20196 yr Commercial Member In the real world, on a VFR flight plan, you typically file the plan electronically. Then when about to takeoff, or shortly after takeoff, you call FSS to open the flight plan, which you can do in P2A. After landing, you would normally call the local FSS via telephone and close the plan or if at a controlled airport you might be able to ask the controller there if they could close your flight plan. This is not currently simulated in P2A. I've added this as a future enhancement.

December 13, 20205 yr Ant least in Poland there is also an option to close the VFR flight plan in the air, just before the landing at uncontrolled airfield (as there might be no radio coverage on the ground).
