Looking into getting a Brunner CLS-E Yoke.   Currently I am leaning toward the Mark II.    I would love to hear feedback from Owners of the Mark II or the NG.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi Paul,

I can only recommend it, you'll certainly have fun with it. I don't use it that much these days due to A320 flying, but anyway, I bought the predecessor of the MKII five years ago and it's very reliable. It just works from day one, no signs of wear and tear at all. It will change your flying certainly, besides having much more feel especially you'll learn about trimming.

Just be aware you have to mount it to a desk. And as you'll pull a peak of around 10 KG, the desk should be fixed.

Hi Paul, I bought a CLS-E NG in August...have a read through my thread on that purchase and a few other things here if you like

Overall I’m very happy with the yoke.  It really does provide a whole different level of immersion when hand flying and with the available profiles different classes of aircraft feel very different.  You can tweak the profiles to your hearts content.  I use it happily for everything from 747’s to Cessnas.  Flying the FSLabs A320 is about the only time I put my Warthog hotas back on the desk.

Support from Brunner has been top notch.  If it fits your budget, I say go for it, you won’t regret it.

As far as mounting goes, I bought a pair of cheap C clamps at Home Depot that cost me less than $10 and they hold it firmly on my desk.  Easy to remove when I need the desk for something else.  I have a pretty heavy desk to no issue with the desk moving or anything like that.

It’s bigger than most yokes (and the full size one would be even more so that the NG) but the top of the casing makes a great place for your keyboard.

Thanks Regis9 for your Reply.   Your tread was a big help and informative.  It was interesting to read about your setup and getting the Brunner.   Bummer it got damaged but looks like you got that taken care of.   That tells me a lot about Brunners Customer Service....Thats big in my book.. So thanks.. I'm leaning now toward the Mark ll.   90% of my sim flying the NG would work....I just like to have the options for more Force If I need it... even if just its a lbs or 2.

BTW, I too have a MFJ Crosswind pedals.   I had a old CH Pro Pedals so I be happy For years.   Their not Force feed back but  I'd get them again.

Yes Brunner’s response was great when the product arrived damaged.  I can’t remember how long it took but it was considerably less than i expected given that it also had to travel Canada-Germany-Canada in addition to being repaired.  I think they overnighted it back to Germany and then back to me which was a much faster shipping method than when I initially bought it...that’s impressive service to minimize my downtime and I’m sure wasn’t cheap on their part.

Another example is that I’ve had issues with the yoke and the Milviz King Air whereby the method Milviz is using for LNAV wasn’t working with the Brunner.  Milviz got in touch with Brunner, provided the needed information and Brunner will push it out as an update soon.  Great service by both parties to support a problem that as far as I know I was the only one having with a relatively niche piece of hardware.

I certainly feel confident that my investment will bring me years of well-supported fun.

My Crosswinds certainly served me well but I really love my Ruddos!

I look forward to hearing what you decide to do and how you make out with it.

I used to have a CSH yoke and pedals, then a YOKO yoke and MFG Crosswind pedals, all of which I sold.  I now have had the Brunner CLS-E yoke and Brunner rudder pedals since March, 2018.  I wouldn't trade either of them for anything else.  Night and day experience vs earlier hardware,  You would need a sturdy way to mount the rudder pedals to the floor, as it takes a lot of force to push them when your GA aircraft (A2A) that have no hydraulics are standing still.  Once you start moving, it takes less force, like the real world.  Ditto for the yoke as far as mounting it.  I have 4 screws holding it to a sturdy 1/2 inch plywood desk, and sometimes that creaks also from the force.  Love' em both.  If you've got the bucks, go for it..

Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.

Great to hear, Their a considerable investment and I want it to be a Perfect decision.  Hearing from a Yoko and MFG former owner is what I need to hear.   I wont be getting a brunner rudder this time but If I love my MKll then I put them on my short list.
