FSLabs A320x... an interesting post...
I can only agree to that. The A320 lives and breathes. Well, almost :-). It's the most immersive Addon I ever came across. I'm still occasionally somewhat in disbelief seeing the all the modelled details. Take e.g. the brake temperatures. After intense braking the temperatures don't rise immediately, apparently a heat exchange with the environment is simulated, before the sensors react. Or what the hydraulic pressure has to say to opening/closing of the cargodoors. Or the first time managed and open descend feels so real. Or the PTU sounds. Or ...... I could probably type a lot more to mention all the details and I bet I haven't noticed them all yet. It's a milestone. Mike

AirfoilLabs C172...
Me too, and it's a world of difference. Also trimming feels real now. Have given up with XPlane though. Even with such a yoke I rarely need more than 10% of travel, no matter if default or Addon plane. That's all way too twitchy. Mike

new user - FSX/SE crash
Please disregard. It`s a problem with FSLabs Spotlight. Uninstalling this solves the problem. Mike

new user - FSX/SE crash
Hello, I installed FSX Steam this morning, checked if DX 10 Preview is working and purchased the DX10 Scenery Fixer. Now FSX with DX10 active doesn't even start anymore, with the following error : Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: fsx.exe Application Version: 10.0.62615.0 Application Timestamp: 559f9a9a Fault Module Name: dxgi.dll Fault Module Version: 6.3.9600.17415 Fault Module Timestamp: 54503ca0 Exception Offset: 00001ab0 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: b608 Additional Information 2: b6085393931ae17a255d31b1b882afe3 Additional Information 3: 7013 Additional Information 4: 701370909d18825bd2d5fb9469bd6ca3 Other installed Addons : FSLabs A320, AS Next, FTXGlobal I used the profile as recommended in the FSLabs forum (not sure if it can be downloaded with being logged in there) : http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=2669 I tried to get info in the manual and at google, but to no avail so far. Any hints what I should check ? Mike

ATC is there a forgotten phraseology ?
I think, Pilot2ATC is currently more focused on US phraseology. Not (yet ?) European phraseology. Mike

Top 5 Carenado/Alabeo Props
Do 228. Hm, will certainly look nice, but I guess authentic Autopilot and Systems are too much for Carenado to handle. Small prop planes yes, but I`d be surprised if the Do 228 is their cup of tea. Mike

Top 5 Carenado/Alabeo Props
Alabeo Seminole and Carenado Aero Commander. Very immersive. Forget about the King Air offerings. Nice optics, and flight dynamics are good. But Autopilot and PL21 ..... well, wait for Milviz :-) Mike

invert/reverse Throttle axis ?
Yes, these options are in FSX and in XPlane. Haven`t found anything obvious yet in Aerofly 2, maybe I have overseen something. Mike

invert/reverse Throttle axis ?
Does anybody know how to invert/reverse Throttle (or generally) Controller axes ? All inverted on my CH Throttle. Mike

Revisiting GA flying
Oh, ok, I understand what you mean, it`s indeed a bit quirky :-). Makes it somewhat unique though. Mike

Revisiting GA flying
Why a Carenado/Alabeo aircraft if the Comanche is available from A2A ? Sure a bit more expensive, but it has a lot more to offer.

FlightSimLabs A320 - Release Very Soon!
I well understand the reason of selling seperate FSX and P3D versions, given the P3D license policy. I don`t really understand that Early Adopter stuff and the delay between versions. Sales during American and European summer are probably not as high as in Winter. Also simmers spend more time outside at >30C. However, they certainly want to release it as soon as possible, as much as we want it. So let`s just wait and see. What else can we do :-). Mike

Realistic atmospheric sunset over Dusseldorf Airport
Looks gorgeous indeed, been searching a while for suitable sunset textures for Germany/Central Europe. I did not find a convincing sunset with Rex yet. Would be great to share these ! Mike

Getting Started at an Uncontrolled Airport
Even if there might be an announcement "elsewhere", the developer did not find it necessary to respond for months. I`d say, give P2A a chance to grow. IMO it deserves it. Mike

weird taxi instructoon
Hm, why not read that data from MakeRwys.exe, it could be kept up-to-date that way ? Unfortunately I ran out of demo time again so can't check the taxi button on the map. However, what worries me more, I could not get anything show up in the Grammer Help and also my SayIt options remained empty, even though I have selected the corresponding facility (ground, etc.) Mike

weird taxi instructoon
Yeah, remains somehow weird. Just to quickly check regarding a bgl problem, I tried it in PF3, it gave me the Hotel-Lima-Cross33-Tango-Alpha-33 as initially proposed. It's UK2000 EGBB. Mike

weird taxi instructoon
Dave, Just received a very weird taxi instruction, see also screenshot https://www.dropbox.com/s/fy9miz9cd83h99o/p2a_taxi.jpg?dl=0 ...taxi to runway 33 via foxtrot alpha delta echo, Hold short runway 15, and runway 33, and runway 33. I'm at EGBB in the general aviation area, position 501. EGBB ground chart is available here : http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/pamslight/pdf/4e415453/EG/C/EN/Charts/AD/EG_AD_2_EGBB_2-2_en How shall I get from Foxtrot to Alpha ? And crossing runway 15, and then 33 twice ?? Should be Hotel Lima Tango Alpha to 33, I think Mike

Pro ATC X update
So you listened to e.g. ATIS information Bravo, and from clearance seconds later it's information Romeo ? In real life I would have thought you had a good sleep in between . It's not connected at all in PROATC/X. But it should. Doesn't take long during PPL until one learns such basics. Mike
-
Pro ATC X update
And being one year forced to use "copilot tunes radios" and Copilot acknowledges" because of the timeout bug. Sigh. Or you listen to ATIS "information XXXXX". And seconds later you get information "YYYYY" in the clearance dialog, so it does not correspond. That's embarrassing for a "professional" ATC program. Mike

Flysimware 50% off
At simmarket.com , until July 10.

Pro ATC X update
OK, but as a potential buyer, you don't read anything about that when looking at the feature list. The issues thread in their forum is visible only if you have bought it. So for the 'forced Copilot" issue you have not chance to become aware of that before purchase. An refund request get not even answered. Well, he has my 50 Euros. But is that a recipe for happy customers ? Not really. Mike

Pro ATC X update
Jim, thanks for the info regarding the history and development of PROATC/X. Still no excuse for me not to release hotfixes for important issues, and let users wait a year. An ATC program is not meant for planes which are often flown single pilot, e.g. a King Air ? So I have to use a Copilot. Well, hm... Mike
-
Pro ATC X update
By the way, I reported this 7 months ago two days after my purchase, just to learn I might have to wait a year for a fix. And a refund request was just ignored. I'm into flight simming since FS4, so roughly 25 years. It's unbelievable such kind of developers still show up here and there. Mike

Pro ATC X update
I agree, leaving users for 9 month and longer with such an issue is just embarrassing. Sometimes hard to find words for the attitude of some developers.
