January 17, 20206 yr Hello, New guy here. Be nice, please. Using P3D, and probably a sim model from some other source (TBD). I want to customize the instruments and radios on the model to reflect what is installed on my actual aircraft. I have a Cessna 337, it uses G5 ADI & HSI driven by a GNS 430W with a Avidyne EX600 MFD. Transponder is a GTX 345, and the Autopilot is an STEC 30. The Engines are managed by a pair of Electronics International MVP-50 modules. Traffic alerting and NEXRAD weather radar are also displayed. I am reading as fast as I can; few of my pilot friends are into desk top flight sims, so I need some AVSIM expertise. QUESTIONS: 1. How many models of the Cessna 337 are available? 2. Which one would be good to modify? 3. How much of my existing real world configuration would be available to put into the sim model? Cheers! Jerry
January 17, 20206 yr The only C 337 Skymaster that I know of is one that Carenado produced some years ago and then updated. There may be others out there as freeware or payware. You may want to post your questions on the Carenado Support Forum (Commercial Support Forums hosted by Avsim) either under the C 337 topic or the General topic. From what I understand and that is limited, you may be limited to what you can do in customizing a panel to simulate your real world Skymaster. The limitations are in the area of modeling, which only Carenado can do. You may also want to check out the products page on Carenado's website to see what their Skymaster looks like. Many simmers in the past have liked that aircraft.

Generally that requires editing the panel.cfg file and adding the appropriate gauges, if they exist, but in some cases it would require actual editing of the virtual cockpit model file, which requires the source 3D file. There are some panel integrations that can be done relatively easily (GNS430 comes to mind)...depending on the aircraft model... 3 hours ago, JB78382 said: I have a Cessna 337, it uses G5 ADI & HSI driven by a GNS 430W with a Avidyne EX600 MFD. So both RealityXP and I think Flight1 have GNS430 (i think it's the GNS430W) gauges (payware) that can be added to many aircraft. I'm actually not sure about Flight1, but I own RealtyXP GNS430 and use it in several aircraft. For the aforementioned Carenado 337, I do not know to what extent it supports the aftermarket GNS gauges. As for the STEC30 it seems like there is an aftermarket STEC somewhere, but I don't have it and may be thinking of something else. I have an aftermarket radar gauge, which is freeware, but I haven't used it with P3Dv4.5HF2 yet, so I don't know about its compatibility. At the very worst you could add these gauges as 2D popups (accessed via SHIFT-1, SHIFT-2, etc.) if they can't be easily added to the VC. A company called Milviz also has a payware radar gauge they sell, but I'm not that familiar with it. As said you will want to get with Carenado to see how much of what you want, can be done without them making a custom VC. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
January 17, 20206 yr Along with the helpful information given to you by Mace, you may want to send Bert Pieke a "PM" with your questions. He is a very helpful and knowledgeable resource regarding what you can do and how to do so along with what cannot be done to customize an a\c panel. Bert is a member of the Avsim forum and you can click onto his avatar and send Bert a PM that way.
January 20, 20206 yr Here is Carenado's page for the C337H They show GTN integration (not mentioning which model or both?), and Reality XP integration for FSX only! All a bit confusing and vague, but some screen shots you might find useful nevertheless. Good luck, Greg
