I have started migrating my addons from the P3D Core to an Addons Folder according to Mike Davies and wonder if the is a way of doing this with my aircraft:

PMDG NGXu

Majestic Q400

Any ideas?

Not with any PMDG product.  They are not there yet, and might not get there.

Theoretically yes, the addon specification of P3D recommends the external installation for all simulator assets, not just scenery. Naturally, there is more to aircraft than meets the eye. There are a number of components to be considered (simobject, gauges, sounds, effects, developer asset folder). Very often the programmatic parts of the aircraft rely on a certain folder structure to work at all (= the folder where they are being executed needs to be in a specific place relative to their assets - missing sounds being the primary issue).

Be mindful that you can't just move simulator assets to a different location when they came with an installer or updater program. You must properly install the addon in the external location in the first place, otherwise the management tool/updater/uninstaller/etc.etc. will not work.

Best regards
