April 6, 20206 yr I would like to fly my old fashioned airplane in old fashioned way with ADF/VOR. Is it possible to get rid of GPS and have a set of, say, default radios instead?
April 6, 20206 yr Reading through the options its the one choice that's not included , as the frames are 3D objects one cant just assign a set of radios in the panel.cfg . Sorry that's not possible. Best CJ
April 6, 20206 yr Author Pity but thanks, they saw the trouble to make two blade propellers but not old school navigation.

April 25, 20206 yr Author Thank you for the tip. Baron has almost everything ready for old school flying, looks, props and paints. And I own it already.

Today I completed a VOR to VOR flight with ILS approach and landing in my GTN equipped RealAir Duke v2 (no longer available) using only the HSI and CDI. Only used the GPS for tuning the NAV frequencies. I fly the Milviz Baron and Cessna 310R quite a bit and have frequently done the same in both. They are a bit more challenging with an HSI and ADF, in the Baron, and an HSI and Omni in the 310 Redux, but it can be done. The 310 Redux has an optonal panel configuration with just old school instruments. I first learned to navigate a Baron with that setup and a pair of Bendix radios in the panel. I just use the HDG indicator at the crossover points as I change frequencies and radials from one VOR to the next. It's really old school that way.
