Two things: Sim title and AI traffic

Featured Replies

Question number one:

I was wondering what the final, formal title of the sim will be. We all use the title Flight Simulator 2020 to differentiate it from previous Microsoft Simulators, however the game logo indicates clearly, that it will be simply the "Microsoft Flight Simulator". No year, no numbers, etc. As far as I remember, Asobo employees never say "Flight Simulator 2020" when they talk about the sim. What do you think?

Question number two:

As I watched the latest development videos from Asobo, I think now they are not going to introduce the AI aircraft silhouettes which are close to the reality. I think they are going to handle all AI traffic with those "pencil-nose" generic airliners that are going to mimic all other airliners in the world (perhaps with an exception of B747 and A320). I don't think they are going to introduce aircraft that really look like all those 777s, A330s, etc. And if I'm not wrong, how are they going to represent, say, regional airliners (like CRJs) and turboprops? Will the "pencil-nose" act as both Dash Q400 and A340?

1 - Microsoft Flight Simulator (this is the official name on their website and all their official videos). It will be supported for the next 10 years and possibly updated on a regular basis so that makes sense.

2 - No one knows except Asobo and maybe alpha testers under NDA.

Hush now, before you know it @Wobbie might wake up 😅😁

Yawn... I'm awake now...

Obviously, the new sim is called Microsoft Flight Simulator.

FS2004/FS9, FSX & FSX:SE, X-Plane, FlightGear & others all have their own name to differentiate them from the official name of the forthcoming sim: Microsoft Flight Simulator aka MSFS.

No confusion at all. Only here are the guys a bit confused & have thumbsucked various names, some named after Farm Sims & Android games. I'm sure that IF the game is delayed until next year, Avsimmers will obviously have various new names for it.
