April 15, 20206 yr P3D says it is using 4.7 from 9.2 GB MSI AB says using 5.4 GB 2080Ti has 11 GB How does this all fit together? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
April 15, 20206 yr Commercial Member Windows won’t allow a single app to use ALL your VRAM, it needs some for itself, that’s why you can only use 9.2 gb out of 11. The utility might shown the total vram used, P3d will only show what’s using itself. Umberto Colapicchioni http://www.fsdreamteam.com FSDT on Facebook

That's what I thought too, but then 5.4 + 4.7 =10.1, still 0.9 GB missing - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

The main thing is, it's memory handled by Windows itself, P3D V5 can only manage whatever memory the OS has allowed to allocate to it. That's why the VRAM counter in P3D V5 is the only thing that really matters since, the rest of VRAM, from P3D own point of view, doesn't exists.
