April 20, 20206 yr Hello. I've got a computer with the following specs -AMD Athlon II X2 B2 Processor @2.8Ghz -ATI Radeon 4200 Graphic card -8Gb RAM DDR3 -Windows 10 64 bits. I am wondering if anyone could tell me the settings I can apply to my FSX to get the best perfomance-realism balance. Thanks.
April 20, 20206 yr That is a pretty low end system for FSX. I would recommend the Steam Edition of FSX as it is a little better than the boxed versions. Start with the graphics and scenery settings at their lowest values and slowly work up until you notice the simulation is no longer smooth. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

The best place to start is the AVSIM Basic FSX Configuration Guide which you can download from here. That really has all the information you need to set up FSX for optimal performance on any system and it is well worth spending the time going through this page by page. Bill
