Sound problems V4.5

Featured Replies

Since some time (cannot tell when this problem started) I have to adjust my sound sliders like that. Only then I'm able to hear the ATC voice. What's the problem here? Doesn't matter which plane I load.

Engine: 2

Cockpit: 5

Environment: 5

Voice: 100

I also have this problem. The ATC voices are barely audible. I hope you get this solved.

Two things to try:

First - Control Panel, System, Device Manager, Sound Video and Game Controllers, choose your Audio device, choose menu item Properties, click Update Driver, click browse my computer for driver software, click at the bottom Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, choose High definition Audio Device, after update reboot. That reinstates the driver defaults after rebooting try out the sounds. The same thing can be done again to choose custom driver if required check if that's any better or causes the problem.

Second - Update the Graphics card drivers or use GeForce Experience to quick update. The GPUs send sounds directly to a monitor so they have drivers that may need reinstalling.

In Windows go to Control Panel -> Sound

Click on the communications tab

Select "do nothing" in the dropdown box.  I think the default setting is to reduce the volume by 80%.

Mine is set to 80% mute but does nothing to the sounds in the sim or other sounds coming in the mix because the communications device is another. It might be also worth checking the selection of other sound sources in the P3D Options, Sound page Voice Playback.

Thank you both,

Drivers are up to date.

I think I do not have a communications sound device. My only sound device listed is my Logitech surround system (5.1, front left, front, right, rear left, rear right, center).
