April 24, 20206 yr Can you make a comparison screenshot : default vs Envshade ? As V5 looks already better it is not clear what Envshade adds extra.. Thanks. Thanks. I'll try but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to it. For me, Envtex/shade adds sharper cloud textures, different water/wave options, and some subtle changes in haze/atmospherics even without P3Dv5's enhanced beta. I totally agree - the new P3Dv5 environment is great and envtex/shade is completely optional! [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
April 28, 20206 yr One issue I ran into was the "disable and restore" option in ENVDIR only reverted the ENVTEX settings and not the ENVSHADE effects. I had to manually get it back to the default shaders which was a bit irritating. Stock: ENVSHADE: Stock: ENVSHADE: I upped the HDR brightness on the V35 shot a bit per ENVSHADE recommended settings, so the shots are a bit more comparable. The Duke shot is with the exact same scenario and settings. The thing I like most about having ENVSHADE is it gets rid of the fluctuating brightness when you look up/down with the default HDR settings of P3D. I was really impressed with the shaders of v5 out of the box but I think I'll be sticking with ENVSHADE for now. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
