May 2, 20206 yr So I don’t have a very good PC for flight simulation and I’m looking to upgrade. But I don’t really know much about the RAM AND Graphics and Video Cards. I would like to know your opinion on this pc http://www.pcspecialist.ie/view/FSX-1500-PC/ I have high expectations for my flight sim and even updarades I could make to this PC. I would like to know how it would run X-plane, FSX and P3D Any help would be greatly appreciated
May 2, 20206 yr Moderator @Danegan4321, it's reasonable but you would need to lower settings to get decent performance. There is an imbalance between the CPU and GPU. The mobo needs to be better too. Are you really going to continue with FSX when P3D will give much better performance? What's your budget? Ray (Cheshire, England). System: P3D v5.3HF2, Intel i9-13900K, MSI 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24G, Crucial T700 4Tb M.2 SSD, Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz RAM, Win 11 Pro 64-bit, BenQ PD3200U 32” UHD monitor, Fulcrum One yoke, Fulcrum Throttle Quadrant. May 2, 20206 yr The RAM is junk (2400mhz stuff). You want 3200mhz stuff at least. Graphics card is pretty poor too, even the 2060 super would be a much better bet. P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. May 2, 20206 yr As far as I can tell, the one component that makes the least difference to the way these three simulators perform is the speed of the RAM. I have never seen anyone report an increase in any simulator performance data after "upgrading" the speed of the motherboard RAM. I would agree that the 1060 is rapidly becoming outdated but the alternatives are much more expensive.

There's numerous threads about the importance of RAM speeds on here, done years ago, by some of the most tech savvy guys on here. However, my point stands. 2400 memory is consumer level off the shelf office pc spec P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. Still 20%? Ray (Cheshire, England).
