P3D V5 HF1 compatibility (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hi

I have uninstalled P3D V5 and re-installed using the newly released HF1 Build.

My 530 and 430 were working perfectly in the original build of V5 with the most recent update from RealityXP.

With HF1 the aircraft will now not follow the GPS flight plan and just veers of to the left of the desired track continually.

I have re-installed my 530 and 430 into V5 HF1 and that doesn't fix it.

I have tried the same flight for comparison (same aircraft, same GNS settings, etc) in V4.5 and it works perfectly.

I have also tried different aircraft in V5 HF1 and it does the same thing.

By process of elimination I'm assuming a new update will be required for V5 HF1?

Hope it comes soon - I rarely fly without my Garmins!

Thanks

Hi

I just posted in the 530/430 V2 sub-forum.

My aircraft will no longer follow the GPS track and just keep veering off to the left since V5 HF1. The last update you provided was working fine in the original release version of V5.

I've tested same scenarios in 4.5 and all fine.

Has something changed in V5 HF1?

Thanks

Have you checked the settings in the first section?  You may not have the GNS and the aircraft properly connected to each other.  The necessary connections may vary from aircraft to aircraft as the developers do not all design aircraft to a common standard.  Shift-right-click on the top edge of the GNS bezel to find the settings...

I believe you have made duplicate posts in separate forums.  Please avoid that.  I responded to your duplicate message in the RXP FSX GNS forum, which is the correct forum for this question.  I am another user like you.

Yes, I posted on the other board first and then saw this topic. So I made reference here to the other post.

Yes. It was fine until HF1 - that is all that has changed.

I know how to access the settings and I have taken photographs of the settings in 4.5 and replicated them in V5 to make sure they are exactly the same.

As I explained, I have done exact comparison tests in 4.5 and the problem is specific to V5 HF1 as far as I can see. It is doing the same thing at different airports, using different procedures, and with different aircraft. This issue did not exist for me in the original release of V5.

I should mention that the GPS driven track is reflected in the CDI (so that is absolutely fine) but in GPS (not NAV) mode on the AP it will simply not follow the GPS track. The aircraft consistently veers to the left of the desired track.

EDIT - I have just tried some more test in V5. Bizarrely, when in GPS mode and I hit NAV on the AP the plane (ALL planes) just head North. That is all they do. Head North. I can only imagine given the consistency of the issue that it is V5 HF1 related.

@peregrine Hi,

This is normal and already documented in a lot of different posts in the forum (search feature?)

I don't have the 750 so I didn't get any search results because I didn't search for it.

@peregrine this is really rude to introduce yourself in the support forum in cross-posting the same message multiple times in multiple places. Please don't do this again:

Wow. And there was me thinking i was trying to be helpful. I cross posted thinking that what I had found was relevant in a post subsequent to my original post. And my second post was not a new thread - it was  a comment in an existing one.

If you wish to think I'm rude, that's fine with me. I promise you that wasn't my intention.

I've bought your products and been extremely happy with them for 10+ years. I am extremely disappointed at being accused of being rude when I was actually trying to helpful.

@peregrine

The genuine Reality XP GNS 530/430 V2 and the genuine Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch are forward compatible with any Prepar3d v4.x updates*. They are forward compatible with any Prepar3d v5.x updates* as well.

They both only require a RXP update for the Autopilot to function.

*unless the SDK dramatically changes in a future Prepar3d v4.x or v5.x update.

Searching the forum with the keyword "compatible" on the forum, it is finding similar questions for previous P3D releases:

So I got the RXP GNS yesterday and watched a few tutorials and such. Today I went out flying with it, but I've noticed that the autopilot of my aircraft is not following the desired track. I've tried this twice on a flight from KRND - KPHX with a Piper Arrow Turbo from Justflight and the A2A C172. Both aircraft when switched to NAV mode go to heading 357, when the desired track is 297. I'm using P3D v5 HF1.

@arwasairl Hi, please see above.

Thanks. I'll wait for an update for the GTN and the GNS.

At the risk of posting unnecessarily, I just thought it worth suggesting that the number of posts regarding these issues might reduce if the current status were updated in the sticky post regarding compatibility with current P3D releases. It might also be good to describe the symptoms so that people can easily see whether they should ask or not via new posts.

Just trying to be helpful, and looking forward to the update. Whilst I am missing flying using the GNS, I'm more than happy to wait for a stable, usable product.

All the best.
