Small plane hits powerlines

According to Miramar Police, the plane experienced mechanical issues and tried to make it back to North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines.

The instructor and student tried to land on Pembroke Road but ended up clipping a power line and crashing near a Chase bank.

That’s too bad. I’ve been to that airport a few times and eaten at the Hooters on the northwest corner of the field on University and Pines. It’s a relatively congested area if you have an issue shortly after takeoff and have to make an emergency landing.
