Post Your Times!

FSX has by far the best input response of any sim I have tried-crisp and instantaneous. Assuming you can maintain a minimum of 20 fps, it makes the Red Bull Challenge a total blast. Try it, and then post your time. Here's mine:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159143.jpgThe jet truck race is also a gas-you can sight see over oshkosh after (can you spot the F-22).

Bumpy-let's go you marys :). Here is a tip which I will try on my next run. Circle, climb then dive through gate one for maximum spoeed-the timer does not start until you pass through the gate-butg watch out for G-loc when turning tom gate 2.

Here you go. Red Bull is a blast! I look forward to the new courses ACES will make available for download in the near future.http://www.hisreef.com/FSXScreenshots/FSX_...Bull_Record.jpgDougDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/540FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 74GB SATA, 10k RPM (C: ) | 120GB SATA (D: ) | 512MB ATI Radeon X1900XTX (Catalyst 6.9) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | MS Force Feedback 2 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0c

It is a ton of fun. Been flying this one many times and 1:40.1 is the best I could do so far. The hardest for me is the touch and go..I mess that one up every other try.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159183.jpg

Not that I don't believe you, because I do... to avoid doubt in people's minds you should take a screenshot of the final screen after the "Success" dialog pops up. The screenshot you show can be taken at anytime during the run.Great time! You are right, it could have been taken at any time, I was just so happy about it that I immediatly pushed V after the last gate (but before landing). So anyways, I just tried again and after a few times I knocked another two seconds off :-) Boy TrackIR sure helps, let me tell you!To avoid anyones doubts I looked down to make sure something is behind the overlays so it would be harder to fake(in case people think its photoshopped or whatever). If anyone still doesn't believe me, then so be it, but anyone can tell you that these times a def. possible and probably down to 1:30 even(but I doubt much lower than that).BTW: are the times recorded somewhere? Would be nice if a few days from now I still know what my besttime had been so far.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159188.jpg

Are you interested in what internal team members can do on this course? :)

>Are you interested in what internal team members can do on>this course? :)Definitly, will give me/us something to work towards :-)BTW the jet race is darn hard. Not beaten that one yet. I always mess up the timing and then you have zero chance. I guess you need to dive from really high and hit the line within 1 second of race start to have a chance. Also the landing on the bus thingy....for the live of me I can't see out of that cockpit and the bus below(and I have TrackIR!) no idea how this is supposed to be done. Eventually I just lined up to the side of it, skewed over and hoped for the best. Worked but I can't imagine that's how its meant to be done. Any tips?Edit: Just improved again...this is fun, but enough for today :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159205.jpg

Man I can barely run that mission, 10FPS..no way...even turning autogen off i still stutter near 20...I need 30FPS and no stutters to fly that thingHave you guys tried the helicopter practice mission, the one (advanced I think) where you fly through squares and land on th emoving yacht? That one is fun I tried to land on the yacht and it said object collision?? What the? I was able to get better FPS in that mission but with some stuttering, not great when the boat turns and you turn with it lol

I applied alot of tweaks, and still can barely hold 18fps (my lock) on that mission. But I find that perfectly flyable.I did fly that helicopter mission and had no problem with collisions. But those last few downhill gates sure are hard to hit...took me a few tries. Ultimately though I didn't like that mission, flying through colored gates in the air isn't my cup of tea.How about the Oil Rig one? The first two guys are no problem, but I have no idea how I'm supposed to get the third guy. You can't seem to land anywhere near him (that's where I got object collisions). Eventually the whole thing exploided (but I still got my reward). But I want to save that last guy ? ....leave no man behind I guess :-)

Well, doesnt seem like anyone actually cares, but I'm gonna post this anyway. Seems like I've been flying the last two gates all wrong. After the touch and go I went to the next gate and then turned hard right, toward that double gate, and flew through it in a direction away from the runway and then parallel to the runway until making a hard more than 180

Okay, this is a shot sent from one of our testers where he is gloating (he put the text on the shot, not me :).The funny thing is that this time has been bettered since then, but I can't find the screen shot proving the time, so I won't post that time.As for the Jet Truck, with a perfect start you can beat it by several aircraft lengths. The key is finding a landmark where you start your run from. You can time yourself at maximum speed from a specific landmark at a specific altitude to the start line and from that figure out where you need to be and when you need to head for the line.Loopy Larry is really hard from the VC (as it should be). I've only done it a couple if times myself. It's pretty easy from an exterior view.
