Can I copy P3dv5's scenery folder into v4?

Featured Replies

I have both p3dv4 and 5 on my system right now and I am wondering if it is possible to copy p3dv5's scenery folder into v4? I would like to have the updated default airports in v4. I am assuming v4 will read the scenery the same way regardless.

NO....won't work.     My advice don't try it.   Bill Davis

I managed to do it successfully with a few airports, but I think it is safer to manually edit the afcads instead.

That is because some developers are not compiling their products with the v5 SDK (bglcomp) and simply providing an installer that works with v4 and v5.  Nothing wrong with this because AF files compiled with v4 bglcomp work just fine in v5.  The reverse is not generally true.
