June 8, 20206 yr Beautiful and ("lonely" & "mysterious") looking image of this part of Scotland...!! Coincidentally, one Orbx Region I'd skimped for years was Scotland, "who, in the SIM, wants to go that far north in UK...🙂...?" All this changed only about a month or so ago, when I finally got Orbx Scotland, and had actually done two Posts on it...including one about the "Bridges of Scotland"...no short of islands or bridges in Scotland...(along with, of course, fascinating and remarkable history of the entire region)... With your advance permission, here, below, is Orbx's (FSX/P3D) Google coverage Map of Isle of Sky: Isle of Sky is in the center of the this Map, to right of the Red Rectangle... BTW, there is a spectacular bridge at the southern end of Isle of Sky (connecting the Isle of Skye to the island of Eilean Bàn). I'd come across it, while exploring the Bridges of Scotland, for my post, but, I could never get a good shot of it, to include. For (RW) on-line images, of it, if you wish, please search for "isle of sky bridge scotland images" to view this wonderful man-made creation (in this remote part of the world). I just read today, it was an engineering challenge...interestingly, also, that, among (many) others, "...German engineering company DYWIDAG Systems International, and financial partner the Bank of America.." were the collaborators in the construction... Anyway, prompted by your image, here, I'll surely explore Isle of Sky, (and its bridges), some more, in the SIM, at least, whatever Orbx has to offer... Thanks for posting..!! June 8, 20206 yr Author I was born in Scotland and didn't come the U.S. 'til 1953 when I was fifteen - hence my affinity for it in the sim. I've crossed the bridge from Kyle of LochAlsh a couple ot times - the first when the nine pounds fifty 'p', each way, was still in effect. A few years later it was free. In the Orbx 'TEGB north', the rendition of the bridge itself is fairly accurate but it's connections with the road on either end have gaps.
June 8, 20206 yr Fascinating...! "nine pounds fifty 'p', each way".....that gave me a chuckle....those were the days...! [And, btw, thanks, for excusing my (repeated) mis-spelling of Skye..(I realized, something was wrong, when I, now, searched for "Isle of Sky", and Google reminded me, that it would rather search for "Isle of Skye")...🙂...]
June 8, 20205 yr I was trying to pick out the Culiin Mountains; been to Barra several times, watched BA, then later LoganAir Twin Otters landing and taking off from there. Rick Almeida

Never been to Barra but it certainly is unique. The 'Cuillins' are the taller group with little white marks (snow) right of center about two and a half inches down. Spectalular in that they literally rise out of the sea on the south side. Edited June 8, 20205 yr by olderndirt
