Sightseeing Moscow (Sheremetyevo) Airport a bit...

Featured Replies

I've flown into (and out of) the Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport (UUEE), of course, in our fanciful "virtual" world, several times, including, just recently, while testing the Tu-95 Bear. However, it occurred to me that, I've never got to look (closely) around this airport (scenery), from a (walk-around) viewer's perspective. So, here, below, please find such a set of (15) images, from this Airport...(UUEE is one of the three main International Airports that serve the city of Moscow, and, is the busiest airport in Russia). Moscow's other two International airports are: Domodedovo (DME) and Vnukovo (VKO).

And, just a few notes and observations, on a few of the images:

  1. On the first image, even, I could tell "Шереметьево = Sheremetyevo", and "Терминал = Terminal", so, my Russian vocabulary is expanding...🙂...(but, I think I've to wait to get into a "virtual" (and Russian) "MiG" cockpit to learn more)....
  2. On the 2nd image, park inn (hotel), I noted the (familiar) "by Radisson" logo, underneath the name...I was hoping, however, it would be something new and different...🙂....but, at the same time, I was also happy to note, the courtesy, "Free shuttle bus" service...from this hotel...to the Terminals I guess...
  3. On the 3rd image, please take note of the ladies/passengers and (at least, one gentleman, looking at his wrist-watch) - all waiting to get on board the (standing by) Aeroflot jetliner, and, busy talking to the Aeroflot stewardess in the smart-looking "Red" uniform,...not sure, if the "Red" is still the color, though... (btw, the Aeroflot Stewardess uniforms have been voted the most "stylish" in Europe...on more than one occasion...as I read today)...
  4.  In one of the images, I caught sight of the standing "SUKHOI SUPERJET 100" (the Russian Regional Jet entrant). The plane is wearing the Sukhoi "House Color".
  5. In some of the images, please excuse, my (i.e. FSX's) fictitious AI jetliners e.g. PACIFICA and WORLD TRAVEL etc..
  6. In the last (overhead) image, you can get a good view of the two main Runways of Sheremetyevo (UUEE) Airport (07L/25R and 07R/25L).

Thanks for viewing, and good week, ahead...!!

Thanks for the kind words, Patrick!

A friend of mine had visited both Moscow and Saint Petersburg, just a few months before the pandemic ensued, and had described, to me, his unique experiences of the trip...(but, this is, now, as close as it gets, I guess...)....

Beautiful shots.
