Aeorosoft A20/321 - I can't get more than 10fps.

Featured Replies

PC  Specs AMD Threadripper 1950x, RTX 2080Ti, 32GB Ram at 2933mhz.

Troubleshooting steps :

I started with 8 fps. I change from limited to 90 to unlimited, I got 2 FPS back.

1. I changed every single graphical settings : same  result

2. Completely uninstall and resinstall : same result

3. Loaded MSI Afterburner : GPU Usage : 13%. My CPU Core 0 is always pinned by Prepar3D. That never changed. Every other core was very low usage. Total CPU usage is less than 15%.

4. Loaded the Dash8 in the same airport, same runway : 50 fps.

5. Removed FS2Crew RAAS, TrueGauge and RealLight. dll. : same result

Basically, the Airbus is stuck at 10fps.  I don't know what else I can do. IF all the other plane works except the Airbus.

Edit : I get less than 3 FPS on the outside view. Yes. I get less FPS from outside the cockpit than inside.

Claude,

Check both Add-on.cfg files and see if they both have Airbus entries. If so, remove the entries from the file in the ProgramData folder and leave the ones in the Roaming folder.  Anything more needed, I would use the Aerosoft Support forum.

Have you setup an affinity mask for P3D? The Threaddrippers probably need some special attention to get the most out of them with P3D.

Doesn't really explain what's going on between the dash and the AS busses. Have you tried other aircraft?

What does your CPU and GPU utilization look like when this is happening?  I'm guessing that you're first P3D core is saturated. There are a few things to try both in configuring the aircraft and setting up P3D, but would be good to know what utilization looks like first. Could you take a screenshot of the Task Manager GPU performance tab AND the Resource Manager showing all your CPU cores?

EDIT: Also, what Dave said...

My Threadripper is not an issue. It's whatever Aerosoft install is messing with my P3D. I just noticed that PMDG also have the same problem. I am doing a complete re-install

Okay, well, if a reinstall doesn't help and you're having trouble with CPU intensive aircraft, add this to your prepar3d.cfg file. It will take 5 minutes to test. If it doesn't work, remove it and no harm done.

[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=68506965

This affinity mask will direct P3D to use "only" 12 cores and to not run two threads on the same physical core.

I'd also note that IF you've had any DXGI crashes, those can and do corrupt the prepar3d.cfg file on my system, so deleting and letting P3D build a new one is also a possible solution. Since you're reinstalling it won't matter this time, but if it happens again it is something to try.  I've created a backup of my clean freshly created cfg file so that if this happens, I can just swap a known good version back in. Hassle, but saves time compared to having to resetup all my settings.

Other things to do, though none of these would be a fix to such a massive FPS drop, each of these might only get you one or two frames:

1) Make sure you've installed the latest P3Dv5 version from your point of purchase. There have been numerous v5 related updates to trueglass and reallight from TFDi and the latest beta versions are included in the latest installers.

2) Exclude the two folders Aerosoft creates from your AV realtime scanning - one of them is the install directory (by default Program Files\Aerosoft) and the other is the Aerosoft folder in your My Documents folder.

3) Open the A3xx Configurator and in the ND section, reduce all four 'max' values from 100 to 25. Also, uncheck 'Force ECAM Software Rendering'

Beyond that, as Dave said, head to the Aerosoft forums for direct support from the team there.

Let's get something straight. I didn't have an issue until I installed The A320.  Now. My P3D is all messed up. Ia m still trying to find the culprit.

If I paused the Sim, I get all of my frame back in the PMDG 777. The second I unpause, I got 4-5 fps. There is some dll that messed up P3D on my machine for only certain aircraft. Like the TBM 850 or the Majestic Dash8 works fine. All my PMDG doesn't anymore.

Guys. My whole P3D setup is  messed up now. Even default plane. I've uninstall every addons. The second I unpause the sim.  My fps goes from 135 fps to 18fps.  That is at the default airport with the default aircraft. I dunno what is wrong but the problem is 5x worst when I choose outside view. Normally you would think I would have amazing FPS. It's the exact opposite.

Ok Guys. I think I found the issue. I had to check off Dynamic 3D autogen vegetation and the problem was resolved.  If I enabled it again Everything is working. I am getting 77 fps right now on the default scenery. So I am reinstalling my ORBX stuff. What a weird issue.

Now that I got everything working. I get no battery when I load Cold and Dark State. I am really at my last straw with this freaking airplane.

So that you know. After I turn it back on. The issue is gone.I have no idea why this features was causing an issue. After I disable and turn it back on. IT was fine.

Without knowing exactly what you mean, I'll try once again to assist. You need to open the third MCDU (Shift-4), go to the ground services page, connect an external power source and then on the overhead panel, you need to push the button to turn it on. That will power on the aircraft. From there, with fuel aboard, you can then start the APU. You do also need the batteries turned on, which can be found at the back of the lower overhead panel, but if I recall, these are on by default, so you just need to connect and then activate external power as I described.

I did all that.  The battery was on but it looked like it wasn’t. I had to bring the overhead light panel to max to see it. I did my first flight and everything is good now.
