UGCX Scenery Updates Slow

Hello Support

Virtually everytime UGCX requires to update the scenery folder when you start P3Dv4.5 or P3Dv5 

Takes a long time to update. My PC and internet connection is on top end  

Seems to take extra long when getting to the Orbx Vector files

Hey Bill,

Question, Can you open your Ultimate Ground Crew X.INI file using Notepad, located here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Ultimate Ground Crew X

And can you tell us what setting you have for these two entries under the [UGCX] section?

BGLFileSizeLimit=???

LogScenRdrDetails=???

ReadDeActScenAreas=???

How many GB? you have of vector data?

Orbx Vector is quite huge.

But you should be prompted if you want to re-load the scenery database if UGCX detects your scenery has changed.... is that not happening?  Are you not being asked if you want to regenerate the scenery database?

Guys, my problem is that the scenery is NOT being updated, even though I have edited several .bgls.  The log shows that the custom scenery add-on is detected, but the .bgls are not being read.  Secondly, UGCX marshalling could not find the North Cargo parking at DD KSEA.

How many GB? you have of vector data? 

I do not know - it is the standard ORBX Vector files for both V4.5 and v5

Hey Bill,

Try to set the "BGLFileSizeLimit" entry to 2, like this:

BGLFileSizeLimit=2

Let me explain, this entry tells UGCX to skip all BGL files greater than 2 MB, this is special, because most BGL files containing airport data is lower than 2 MB, in this way, the scan process can be speeded up, since, most BGL files containing vector data will be big in size, slowing down UGCX's reading process.

After modifying the UGCX.ini file, save the changes, then restart P3D, and force UGCX to rebuild scenery index files.

Which airport's ID represents this scenery area?, or a better question: Which airport's ID should UGCX be reading?.

Seems like it's reading this airport's ID: PAFA. I think this is the wrong airport's ID right?, if that's the case, you can exclude it, in case it's not the correct airport's ID...

Manuel,  most of this is my fault after installing HF2.  Scenery priority seems to be hosed at the moment.  I also had some problems with ORBX after the HF2 update.  Thanks for your response.

Thanks for tip. Did not work - still takes a long time to update. Remember as said my PC is no slow coach. When it hits the ORBX Vector files it stays there for some time.

We has been working on an update. I had to finally get ORBX Global Vector, and after installation, I saw why it takes sooo much time. I just modified UGCX to skip automatically all ORBX Global Vector scenery areas, so it doesn't scan it.
