For the last few thousand hours I've flown VFR with occasional use of VOR/NDB in stock P3D landclass without problems I meant accessible instead of possible. I didn’t mean to say it’s impossible ... Let’s just agree that this is an exciting improvement to flight sim VFR flying! 🙂

I've always found generic landclass has always made VFR navigation using pilotage relatively easy in current sims. Small towns, rivers, lakes, coastlines, roads, powerlines, etc. used for visual checkpoints really stick out from their surrounding landclass. Pre-GPS/ForeFlight, real world VFR navigation using pilotage and dead reckoning was always a little stressful. Is that town my checkpoint...wait is that the town or just a cluster of buildings? It was always helpful to pick checkpoints with multiple features...a town with a major highway running East/West and crossing high tension power lines east with a small reservoir just to the south. I'm really excited for the new sim as it will certainly make visual navigation more challenging in some respects and easier in others, especially when you have local knowledge. Chris
