July 1, 20205 yr hello all, i just bought the gns 530 v2 and i have the gtn 750 with the latest garmin trainer. indeed the database in the gns is very old and i was wondering which file in the gtn trainer can we use as worlwide.bin in the gns??
July 1, 20205 yr Pretty sure you can't as they're a different file format. Bert might be able to chime in if I'm wrong. David Porrett

Garmin changed the file format of the GTN gauges in 2015 and the databases of GTN and GNS are no longer compatible. With the increase of data such as for RNAV approaches the total world database grew to be too large for the GNS gauges. The GTN database format appears to take advantage of improvement in technology since the GNS gauges were still current. These simulator gauges are based on the Garmin trainers and thus limited to what Garmin makes available or develops. For years back in days of printed charts and printed IAP's I used to get hand me downs from pilots in my area. The same hand me down of just out of current nav data does happen in a similar way today.
