Orbx TE NC vs NC

Featured Replies

Anyone tried both sceneries in P3DV5 and can compare performance.

I have all the orbx regions including NC & SC however with the “want” to keep performance high when in VR I’m reluctant to pull the trigger on any of the TE sceneries.

With P3DV5 H2 the performance is now good enough for VR to fly around SC & NC whereas with 4.5 my FPS got too low.

There’s a nice bit of TE coastline coverage now which is beginning to temp me for VR.

thx in advance.

I do not have any of the ORBx USA scenery packages, but experience has taught me that photoscenery has much better coastline detail than landclass.

I have all the NA TE and the FTX regions...the TE will give you a slight frame hit due to the increased amount of autogen around the major areas (San Francisco comes to mind) but I didn’t notice a change in actual playability in VR with my normal VR settings or with my normal 2D settings. I had to turn on the in game information to actually see the change...but I also don’t obsess over single digit frame drops or increases.

Thank you for the replies.

Everyone likes more detail, I’m guessing reducing the autogen slides if need be will help VR FPS when required.

Do the ORBX airports fit well the TE sceneries?

thx

They are hit and miss but that is the nature of Orthographic images...hard to match up all the colors from the TE ortho images to the existing already made add on airports...they work by and large but sometimes there is a bit of a color difference with the surrounding area and the add on airport. Different hues of green etc
