My card will not support a 4K monitor and the VE278H 27" wide led with a acceptable FPS rate, I get with P3D v5 between 40-50, right now . FYI: I am running three 75'' 4k TVs with one 1080Ti. This pushes it to the limits on medium to high settings. I do have a home cockpit so my displays are only for scenery, so that might help me since it is not having to display a virtual cockpit as well. I would think you could run a 4K display and a 27" 2nd display without issue. Depending on your other PC specs as well. i9-10900k * 64GB 3600MHz Ram * RTX 3090 running 3 75" 4k displays smoothly. August 4, 20205 yr Author Hi, I finally went to a Best Buy store near by. After looking at all the different size of screen, I decide that I was ok with a 40 to 50 inches screen. But not bigger then that. They didn't have any monitor in that range, so I focused on the 4K TV. After a hour of loading Ray's PMDG 737 4K images, I narrowed my choices to the following 4 devices, in that order: 1.Samsung 49" 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN49Q80TAFXZC) - Titan Black 2.LG 49" 4K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (49UN7300PUB) 3.Samsung 50" 4K UHD HDR LED Tizen Smart TV (UN50TU7000FXZC) - Titan Grey 4.Sony 49" 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR49X800H) The first one is a bit more expensive but the brightness and sharpness of the image was incredible. So is any of one of those are a better choice? Thanks Ray for the image, it helped a lot. August 4, 20205 yr Moderator @PierreFSX, I can’t give you any advice that is better than your own eyes. If you’re happy with the image quality as you appear to be then go for it. Samsung make some excellent TVs. My only advice is to check if it supports chroma 4:4:4 and 30Hz. A check of the downloadable manual should confirm that. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 5, 20205 yr Author Thanks again Ray, From what I can read it does support chroma 4:4:4 but I am not sure about the 30 Hz? August 5, 20205 yr Moderator Hi Pierre, It seems it might reading the Emanual on this link. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202006/20200618112841534/NIKATSCT-3.0.7_EM_NIKE_USA_ENG_200527.0.pdf BluRay disks often play back at 24Hz so it would suggest 30Hz is achievable. August 5, 20205 yr Author That the manual I did reviewed and I find two mentions for the 30HZ on page 130 The native resolutions are 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz (UHD models) and 7680 x 4320 at 60Hz (Q800T series or higher) with the Input Signal Plus set to On. The native resolution is 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz with the Input Signal Plus set to Off. and in Supported Resolutions for Video Signals table on page 135. But in this review, it is not clear what refresh rate it supports....https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q80t-qled Just for my personal knowledge, why is the 30 HZ is important? what does it gave me? August 5, 20205 yr Moderator @PierreFSX, those review sites won’t mention the minimum refresh rate but will the maximum. Gamers who need fast refresh rates need a display capable of delivering them. But flight sim doesn’t fall into that category. Most of us struggle to get anything above 50 at addon airports with plentiful Ai. Having switched to 3840*2160@30Hz a couple of months ago I can vouch for the smoothness it brings. Why have a display refreshing at 60 times a second if the data fed to it is only refreshed 30 times because that’s all the system is capable of? It is possible to use software to artificially reduce refresh rate to 30Hz but it’s better if the monitor can deliver it naturally. Supported refresh rates are generally only shown in the user manual, not on the website with the sales blurb. You have to dig for them. I have setup FSUIPC to reduce Ai at busy airports to maintain 30fps. It results in a very smooth sim. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 5, 20205 yr Author One more question, In my research I starting to realize that tv below 50 inches do not support Variable Refresh Rate, But they all do if you go to 55 inches. Is VRR important to me? Pierre Pierre Nantel Asus Prime Z690-A | Intel I9-13900K | 64 Gb Corsair 2666Mhz DDR4 | 3XSamsung 960 M.2 SSD | Gigabyte RTX4090 | Win 11 | MSFS 2020-2024|
