October 22, 200619 yr Can anyone help my find a way to bring back the nice FS9 fixed view spot view? I know that we have a locked view in FSX but this is not a actual fixed view. In FS9 if you were had the fixde view check boxed ticked you could see your helicopter (example) spin around inside a fixed area, ie your screen/viewpoint would not revolve around the helicopter. I find landing helos difficult without this viewpoint settings....in FS9 you changed it in "view options," but we don;t have that, is there any of these camera.cfg settings I could change to get the FS9 fixed views back? I sure hope so:[CameraDefinition.004]Title = Locked SpotGuid = {BCA3FDD1-FB83-4BBA-8407-4922A7F0D00D}Description = This is the description of the spot view.Origin = CenterSnapPbhAdjust = SwivelSnapPbhReturn = FalsePanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = FlatChaseLockedShowAxis = NoAllowZoom = YesInitialZoom = 1.0SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = FALSETransition = noShowLensFlare=TRUECategory = OutsideClipMode = SpotPitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=75PanAcceleratorTime=0HotKeySelect=3Thanks! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

October 23, 200619 yr Thanks Bill, didn't think the caps mattered :)ooops, that still didn't work though, my screen shifts around when the plane turns, I want just the plane to rotate/etc when I turn it, here's the setting in FS9:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159415.jpg | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 23, 200619 yr Moderator Well, I can read through the SDK and explore all the options described, and make suggestions, but......why not install the SDK, and read the Camera Configuration.htm file? ;) Fr. October 23, 200619 yr ok sounds good, is that in the install sdk folder? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 23, 200619 yr When you've installed the SDK you will find (in the SDK folder) a folder called Core Utilities (or something like that): in there is a folder called (something like) Camera Configuration (I am at another computer now so I can't check it) and in there is an html file with information about the camera possibilities (it's just text, not a tool or something, so good luck with it... ;))
October 23, 200619 yr Author Hi ryanbatcundVery interesting question.I have been looking for exactly the same option with no luck so far. I have been reading through the SDK documents - but it looks a little complicated for me.I too find ot much more realistic in spot plane view to see the plane rotate than to see the all the environment rotate behind a fixed angle plane.A solution would bee very welcome.RegardsHenrikBGGH
October 23, 200619 yr Ryanbatcund thanks for asking this question, I've been looking for the option in menu and haven't found it. I want that camera to stop movingand jumping all over the place.Bill Thanks for the answer, I forgot to install the sdk when I had thedvd burner in. :( Guess I'll have to grab it from the roomy again.
October 23, 200619 yr Author Hi BillI think we are talking about two different things here Bill. If I understand you right, the Camera jumping around all over the place -thing - is when you are in 'spot plane view'. Try choosing 'locked spot plane view'. It will lock the camera to a fixed angle and distance fron the plane, and the Camera will not jump around with this setting.RegardsHenrik
