July 21, 20205 yr Dear Team, I refer to the Avsim T's & C's.. » BETA Testers: If you agree to be a BETA Tester for a commercial entity, your status and use of AVSIM changes. You are not permitted to post images of the product you are BETA testing. You are not permitted to reveal or communicate details of the product you are testing. You are not permitted to be a "proxy" for the commercial vendor. Only after it has been publicly announced that BETA testing is over AND an imminent release date for the product has been announced, can you post images, discuss the product and answer questions from other users. BETA Testers who post material for a product that is not to be released in a week or two from their post will be considered as a violation of our commercial advertising policies. Does this rule also refer to Alpha Testers, or do the moderators differentiate between Alpha & Beta discussions.? Your moderators seem to be condoning breaches of the rule. If there is such differentiation, is this not against the spirit of the T's & C's of Avsim? I hope that I am not breaching Avsim's Freedom of Speach T's & C's by asking this question and I look forward to your response. Edited July 21, 20205 yr by Wobbie Robin "Onward & Upward" ... July 21, 20205 yr Yes, the rule applies to Alpha through Omega testers, no we don't differentiate, but we are not everywhere all the time. If someone known to us to be under NDA is clearly and openly breaking it by posting details that we believe to be under embargo in our forums and we're aware, we'll deal with it as a violation of our TOS. That said, we are not the Microsoft NDA Police. When confronted with a clear breach, we'll deal with it. That said, we aren't going to go on a snipe hunting expedition looking for these guys three weeks before release day. July 21, 20205 yr Author Appreciate it. Just serms like it's become a free for all. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
July 22, 20205 yr Administrators Robin, I'm in total agreement with Bob and I'm sure you have seen my posts in the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum when I was trying to moderate all of the screenshots being shown with the ID watermarks. There was no way to tell if someone was breaching their NDA by posting them or if they were just reposting an "authorized" shot. If you see something out of line, be sure to use the "Report" button and let us know. We are always happy to look at it and make a determination about it.
