Why could I not Connect ?

Featured Replies

I tried a flight in XP11 between EKYT and ENTO and found that in P2A I could not Connect. Nothing happened when pressing that button and I could not file the plan. Before I made a flight between ESGP and EKYT without this problem. I tried to restart both P2A and XP11 and nothing helped. I have downloaded the latest upgrade of P2A

EDIT flightplan is not the issue I can't Connect to the simulator at all

This happens to me occasionally.  P2A gets confused on startup sometimes.   If you don't see three green lines showing up in the output window (don't recall what those three lines are), P2A did NOT start correctly.   Kill off P2A and restart it.   Sometime I have to do that a couple of times.   There are times when it will Connect but there is only one green line, sometimes two.  If you don't get THREE, P2A did not really connect.   Keep trying.

Hope that helps.

You mean the the three textlines that are supposed to display when pressing Connect ? I did not see one of this lines being displayed. If I press Connect again I see a message that sim is disconnected. I think I restarted P2A at least three times with the problem still remaining

Yes, exactly.  If you DO NOT see three lines of text there, P2A DID NOT connect properly!   I can't really say anything beyond that other than I rarely have trouble connecting the second time.

Maybe Dave will respond here as your problem appears to be more chronic than mine.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

During my test today I got two lines i.e

Simulator Connected
Recognition Engine Installed

But ATC seem completely unable to detect what I try to say

Has P2A ever connected to your sim?   Are you sure XPUIPC is installed?   Take a look at the "Part 1: Installation, Setup + Troubleshooting" manual.   I'm afraid you haven't provided enough information for me to help you further.

Yes yes and after trying to connect to P3D everything worked. Then I tried XP11 again and this time it worked. For now only remaining problem is that P2A  hearing what I say.

The third line you should see in P2A is "Grammars Loaded".  You usually miss just this line when you do not have English-US set up as your primary language.

Go to Settings -> Time &Language->Language, and be sure English-US is at the top of the Preferred Languages list.

Then go to the Speech page and be sure that English-US is set as the Speech Language.  Also, you may want to check the "Recognize non-native accents for this language" option.
