Side scrolling WW1 game where you had to take out enemy buildings, fuel tanks etc (and the occasional unfortunate cow) while dodging ground fire and birds. So much fun on a CGA monitor! August 2, 20205 yr This put me in the mood to reminisce so this afternoon I fired up my Replica C64 https://retrogames.biz/thec64 and downloaded some 80’s flight sims from here https://legacy.c64g.com/games.php?q=F I did a circuit in solo flight but stalled and crashed during the flair , a common mishap as I remember. I had a quick go on chock’s spitfire sim, which seemed familiar so I must have had that one in the day. I did a short flight with Jump jet, which I remember buying with my pocket money when I was about 14, it’s not bad but I remember it being hard to land back on the carrier so quit before I got to that stage. Sublogic flight sim 2 wouldn’t load up so not tried that , which is a shame. The highlight of the afternoon though , and the most sim like was Super Huey , I actually did a better job flying it than I did in the 80’s, probably because I found a copy of the instructions on the internet where as I think I lost or didn’t read my original manual at the time so didn’t know half the functions. I think at the time because they were all we had they kept your interest and imagination, but now going back to them it’s hard to last more than a few minutes before you’re losing interest. 787 captain.
