August 18, 20205 yr It detects a new controller but it cannot configure it...could it be because I messed up with the permissions? If someone could export the control (is there even an option for that?) it would be greatly appreciated.
August 18, 20205 yr OK, it seems that I have to unplug the whole controller every time I start the sim if I want it to work properly..

However, althought my Saitek X52 Stick & HOTAS is seen by FS2020, there appear to be no assignments. Completely blank. Is anyone else using an X52 seeing the same thing? Thanks in advance for any assistance. I had no issues in testing with my X52 Pro.
August 18, 20205 yr OK I found solution to assign: Select X52 H.O.T.A.S. Note that you cannot assign anything (looks like a bug) Select KEYBOARD Try to modify one item Now select X52 H.O.T.A.S. Note that you can now assign as expected Edited August 18, 20205 yr by USAPilot Found solution
August 18, 20205 yr This worked for me. It's still not ideal but you don't have to unplug the controller (after the first time). Start the game without the x52 attached Attach the x52 while in the 'Welcome' menu (not in the 'Options' menu, that crashed my game) A pop up appears that the x52 is detected, accept it. This creates a (filled) profile for the x52 controls. Click on 'preset manager' and make a duplicate of the profile and save it. Now when you next start the game with the x52 attached the default x52 profile will be blank again, but you can switch to the profile you created by making a duplicate (use the arrows underneath 'x52 professional hotas' in the controls menu.)
August 18, 20205 yr Ssepp. You are a genius. This worked and now instead of a grey set screen I have a profile. Well done After 12 hours of setting this game up I can now fly 🙂
August 19, 20205 yr Are you guys using the steam or Xbox version? I ask because I found a similar thread elsewhere that mentions changing a controller option in the launch options in steam for that version. I’m running the Xbox standard game pass version with my 1st gen x52 and it detected it but no assignments. I manually assigned some things and they’ve held through multiple restarts of the sim. Debating to try the unplug and connect after launch though to try and get an auto populate. I think I’m just gonna take my FSX layout profile and update it with the keybinds in the pdf that’s floating around. August 19, 20205 yr Steam. The problem I had was in the controller the keyboard mouse and X52 tabs were there. Clicking on the X52 tab showed the controller on the right and very very briefly the button assignments on the left. It immediately disapperaed and resulted in a grey screen. Now there was no ability to assign anything. The fix mentioned by Ssepp let you assign a profile when the controller was detected in the welcome's screen. Then the profile appeared in the tab on the controller screen.

Man I had to do some digging including looking in Steam to see if I could find the option since I didn't remember the name correctly and don't have the sim installed through it yet. Thankfully it's a generic option for all games it seems and I found the post I was thinking of right here on Avsim........... If I plug the stick in when I'm on the Welcome menu the game crashes and if I plug it in on the options menu it doesn't give me a pop up :(
August 19, 20205 yr My X52 is recognised fine but totaly empty profile, as other people as well. So if there is an xml file I can install to add all this I would be very grateful. I actually thought it was supposed to be directly supported at launch according to this: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015912899-Peripherals-compatibility
