Start the game without the x52 attached Attach the x52 while in the 'Welcome' menu (not in the 'Options' menu, that crashed my game) A pop up appears that the x52 is detected, accept it. This creates a (filled) profile for the x52 controls. Click on 'preset manager' and make a duplicate of the profile and save it. Now when you next start the game with the x52 attached the default x52 profile will be blank again, but you can switch to the profile you created by making a duplicate (use the arrows underneath 'x52 professional hotas' in the controls menu.) Thanks ssepp, this workded like a charm & stopped me having to unplug each time. It actually detects and auto assigns my cloned preset now every launch so all sorted. Thanks again
August 28, 20205 yr Is there a reason I have to unplug my Saitek X52 Pro then start the sim and when in the welcome screen I plug the joystick back in even after saving the profile, seems odd.

The only thing I could think of is there's potentially an issue with controller settings in the Steam app and there was a fix on the flightsimulator site on how to fix it. It only applies to Steam though as it's a setting in the Steam app itself. September 1, 20205 yr Not sure if this was fixed via an update or something but things seem to be completely button mapped and recognized upon start up... will test flight now
September 3, 20205 yr Still having problems with my X52 Pro connecting to MSFS even after downloading and installing an update. If I disconnect my j-stick before starting the Flt sim, then start it wait until the 'Welcome' screen comes on I then reconnect my stick, go to controls and there it is. After saving the default file and turning off, then re-start the Flt sim the problems start's all over again, this is ridiculous, never had this problem wit hall the older versions, just glad I didn't buy the one I originally was going to which was the dearest version. Does anyone have any idea's as I'm all out of them. PS it's not the steam version by the way 😩 Edited September 3, 20205 yr by jurgenmitch1947
September 5, 20205 yr The XML profiles present in MSFS only work with the following hardware GUID and product ID: GUID=“9a117810-f09c-11e7-8002-444553540000” ProductID=“075C” However, older versions of the X52 have these IDs: GUID=“745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da” ProductID=“0255” Therefore these X52s are not correctly recognized by the game. Steam users can edit the XML files and adjust the IDs by hand. However, this option is not available for Gamepass users. I cannot say whether it will work with versions bought from the MS Store. That explains a lot. My X52 is one of the originals from 2004 lol AMD Ryzen 9950X3D | Asrock X870E Taichi | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 w/EK waterblock | Full Custom Loop Cooling | Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-6000 | Samsung & WD NVME/SSDs | Phanteks Enthoo 719 | Seasonic Vertex Gold 1200W | Keychron Q5 Max | Corsiar Scimitar Elite SE Wireless | Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo | Logitech Pro Flight Pedals | VKB Gladiator Pro NXT L&R handed | MiniCockpit MiniFCU | Alienware AW34DWF | Asus PG279Q | Win 11 Pro

September 6, 20205 yr Finally solved my X52 j-stick issue, but still have a question, Whilst I have no problem using my X52 in the cockpit I can't control the aircraft when in external view, is there a switch I need to tick / untick
September 6, 20205 yr Hello all.... I can also say I have a X52 (old silver version) and am having the same issue. After pulling my hair out and finally figuring out how to get into my WindowsApps folder (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.7.14.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Input) so I can find my X52 .xml file.... it seems I cant copy or edit it. I get the access denied message.. Why the heck M$ would lock files behind Admin (and I am admin on my machine) I dont get. So how the heck can I modify this file so I can use my joystick???
September 7, 20205 yr Hi everybody, I am new here to this forum. Very happy to see a nice sim community. I have been reading this post cause I am looking to update my X52 but I fail to find the proper files on the Internet. One my mt search lead me here. I was hoping to find some answers. Looks like everybody is asking same question. How to update the X52 driver. Logitech now owns this and the are not doing a great job in my opinion. So simple question: where is the link to that file that everybody is talking about!
September 7, 20205 yr As far as I can see, the USB controller firmware in the X52 cannot be updated. The drivers for the FCS are available on the Logitech website. Logitech X52 Driver This contains the INF files for both GUID versions. Unfortunately, old versions of the FCS with the GUID “ 745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da ” ProductID =“ 0255 ” do not work with the FS2020. These are not recognized due to a missing XML file in FS2020. Newer X52 (and all X52 Pro?) (maybe we can find out from which year of construction?) are easily recognized in the FS2020. The link to the file depends on the version of your game. Do you own the Steam version, Microsoft Store, or Gamepass? If it's the Gamepass version and you have an old X52, then just wait. In the Gamepass version you have no access to the XML file. In Steam you should find the file under the following path: X:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Input\Saitek_X52_Flight_Control_System.xml Follow the instructions from Pottymoose on page 5 Edited September 7, 20205 yr by TheWatcher2k3
