Cannot edit now.  Have modified build to Coolermaster H500M case, EVGA Supernova Gold 850W PS, and to Corsair H100i platinum cooling kit.

It will be a great build, but unless you care about RGB ram I would go with this: https://amzn.to/3aCAz1g.  Its some of the most affordable guaranteed Samsung B-Die out there.  Its what I put in all of my builds these days.  For a PSU I would go with a corsair RM or a seasonic Prime or focus 750watt like this one: https://amzn.to/3aEgWGj.   The voltage regulation  and ripple on the 12V rail will be better quality than the EVGA.  Again, unless you care about RGB this is the best CPU cooler for the money: https://amzn.to/2El5XFt.  The liquid freezer ii has the best temps and is very quiet too.  The mobo is not bad, but for the price I would step up to the unify from MSI, the Gaming E from ASUS, or the Aorus Ultra from Gigabyte.  They are only a few bucks more but I really like the components on those boards especially for overclocking.  Also i just noticed your case, make sure you get the H500 with the mesh front, the H500P Mesh is what I have, I forget if the H500M has it too.

Also.... I would be remiss if I did not mention that the 2080ti will be obsolete in about a month.  Nvidia is due to announce and release the RTX 3000 series in september.  I personally would not buy a GPU right now, the 3000 series is rumored to wipe the floor with the 2000 series, and offer 24GB of VRAM at the top end, something that will be useful for VR or p3d v5.

Yes. But at what pricing?  The total build above is just under $2,900 before tax and more than a third of it is for the 2080 TI refurb.  I can afford anything out there, multiple times over.  But I didn't get here by throwing it away....  Offer me a 3000 series with 11 GB or more at under $1,500 with outstanding performance vs that refurb 2080 11 GB and I am in.  More than that I am holding my position.  I found a very good performing used 1080 TI 8 GB on eBay a couple of months ago for under $400.  I will be flying GA, and at cruise level and only occasionally over major cities with complex class airspace.

If the 3000 series comes in with significant incremental advantages for my style of flight then I can throw what is necessary at it cost wise.  But I will not spend fools gold chasing state-or-the-art specs.

I just read an article today stating that the 3080ti or 3090 whatever they are going to call it is expected to be around $1500, its rumored to offer 24GB of vram.  The 3080 with 10gb of vram is expected to be around 30-50% faster than the 2080ti.  If you found a great deal on that refurb 2080ti go for it, it will more than powerful enough for your style of flying especially if you dont use VR.  But if you are paying retail for it, it makes more sense to wait for the 3000 series.  Same price, better performance.

Thanks. Perhaps I will pull the 1080 TI 8 GB from my failed system and request it be put into the new build.  Would save me near $1,200.  Appreciate the advice.  Much so!

I know you've been given advice to switch PSU make but... I wouldn't!

EVGA PSU'S are superb. Had three now. Fantastic warranty, reliable, great support.

Got to Microcenter today and finished the specs.  Will have the new system in two to three days.  Using my current GPU for the time being.  1070 TI not 1080.  Changed the cooler to an standard H100i Pro XT, Ram to G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB 2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600 , and the PS to a Corsair RMX850X on recommendation from the tech.  Will still be likely a week before I am back in the air as my computer is multi-purpose and I have more immediate needs for Office and other apps.
